Wembley

I was fortunate enough to get a ticket for the Monaco home game, and they had done a bang up job. As fans it felt like another home game, club icons pictured on Wembley way, the white and blue colouring the stadium. Obviously a lot of this turned into ill feeling due to a turgid performance and an obscene wait after the game. Yet this doesn’t counter the fact that the team Wembley did a great job to make Spurs fans feel like they are at home.

Conversely, for the players it seemed different. As they paced along the recently laid turf the whole thing was new for them; the larger pitch dimensions, the mental aspect of playing at ‘Wembley’, and the playing surface damaged by some fat Line-Backer called ‘DeyShawn’ the weekend before.
It doesn’t suit our style at all, we are built around high pressing which means we want to minimise space, White Hart Lane being 100m x 67m, whereas Wembley is 105m x 69m; meaning there is more ground to cover so our pressing becomes less effective.
Also the dodgy playing surface brings about a variety of different injuries; which hinders our league and cup campaigns.
Then there is the added hindrance that teams up their game against when playing at Wembley, especially when playing a big side like Tottenham *waits for WUMs to bite*.

It is fine for this season, as we play so few games that it won’t have too much of an effect, but I am already worried for next season our home games will be at a weakened fortress. The ‘Wembley effect’ will hurt our team badly, I can’t wait until it is over.

Why can't we have the pitch markings repainted and have the same sized pitch ?

No it's much bigger. Pretty sure I read it's as big as the Arsenals

I do. WHL pitch is too small IMO gives teams like WBA more opportunity to sit back.

Bigger pitch more space for our boys to do the job

I'm not so sure, our pressing game works better on a small pitch plus is not as energy sapping as playing on a larger pitch.

But we only full press a few teams the rest we dominate the possession.

We play better away from home IMO
