You know you are addicted to FM when?

How do you know when you are addicted to football manager?. When I was at college I would skip classes just to play football manager. I have got better these days but I can still play the game for hours. I am in 2030 on my FM2011 oxford united game and still no chance of quitting.

When I'm having a shower I always interview myself about the season and the new signings. Very sad I know but it has taken over my life. Anyone else an addict?

my favourite FM player name Hyacinth Die

the funniest moment was when in 2023 i saw a news bulletin saying Rafa Benitez has been sacked as Liverpool manager. i checked his history and he hadn't won a single trophy in that entire time finishing 3rd, 4th pretty much every year had kept him in a job.

I know my mate was addicted when I got home and found him sat at the PC in a suit and tie playing FM:

Me: You had a job interview or something?

Him: Nope. I'm in the FA Cup final.

Milan Milanovic was a kid I brought into my Barca team when he was just 16 years old and I had to sell Iniesta the next year.

I have been known to play with various self enforced rules to spice things up a little. Over the years I have done sign only players below 20, only players over 30, only home nation players, only players from lower leagues etc etc. adds a little something to the challenge.

My favourite games though have all been ones where i have brought a few through from the under 18's, signed up a batch of other youngsters and built a team of superstars over the course of a few years.

On my current one, Norwich City are the dominant team in europe, with a team of galacticos that have pretty much been together for the best part of a decade, developing into monsters. I could name some of them, but as i'm in about 2030 they're all invented within the game and don't exist lol

I started playing Player Manager in 1990 and have been playing manager games ever since. I always used to buy some guy call Kavalashvilli or something like that, which I now guess to be a Georgian name, which is sort of strange as I married a Georgian girl and she took away that little joy in my life.
