Having lost 5 points due to conceding injury time goals already this season, it's great to read that Richard Keogh 'insists' that everything will be alright and we just 'need a bit of luck.'

It would also be nice if Lord Keogh wasn't responsible for conceding last minute goals, making costly mistakes as he always has done for Derby, getting turned inside out by opposition wingers and being somewhat goal shy from set pieces at the other end.
Player of the season though.

I'm not a colonial Rameses I have just switched on the sports channel and they now classify poker as a sport.
I hereby renounce the 'new' world and will be making every effort to bring em all back to Europe f'propa speak lessons and sporting rehabilitation.
We do have a bit of catching up to do, but despite the post Clement vandalism age at Derby County, we can still do a bit of a salvage job and maybe just maybe learn from some of our many mistakes post Wembley
Also, fans and championship managers have been saying we were nailed on for promotion for the past 2 years
Wtf do they know about football?
I think we need to play it smart, SM has the knowledge I'm hoping the application will come, MM worries me as I've always said, I see SM has been studying Sporting Directorship. I wonder if the plan is SM to work on getting us to the Premier or close and then moving upstairs a bit, if Mel can take a back seat on footballing matters and SM can help build a structure where those who know a bit about the game inform the decision making process - who knows.
The parachute payments have changed the playing field a bit but if supporting Derby has taught us anything it's that money don't always bring promotion.
I see so many championship teams trying to battle their way to the Premier using the same honest hard working formula, Derby are a bit different in that we've generally tried to play our way out of this league, we probably need to balance this out a bit, but I think playing football instead of the honest, hardworking, kick and ask questions later, will serve us better long term.....I hope.

Well done Wassa. I was looking for my mates and myself amongst the crowd. Not successfully I fear. Brought back a lot of memories of a more innocent age.

Hardly more innocent 3R. There were a lot of potentially guilty youg men in their Bay City Roller outfits. They were at least guilty of crimes against good taste. Odd to see grass on the pitch as well but I think we had just had a new pitch.
One guy walking down the road smoking a pipe. When was the last time you saw that?

Spart, in fact it was more violent in those days. But in a lot of ways it was more innocent. Admittance for 80p. Players looked like normal human beings instead of millionaires. Where would you see the equivalent of King Kev and Charlie George? And they were never Prima Donnas. And friendly coppers as long as you behaved yourself.
It certainly took me back. I think in those days I had a central seat in the Normanton Upper Stand. You could watch Colin Todd moving into the gaps just before the ball arrived. And his passes were inch perfect over 50 or 60 yards.

Fabulous Wassa, bought back so many memories
Pleased we don't play there now though - despite what people say about 'flat-pack' stadiums. She would certainly be a tired old girl now...
