I’ve compared it to like if Spurs when Man City were in for Kane letting him for £35m.

It’s the most stupid thing I’ve ever seen. The one draft pick the Mavs got, was when Luka is in his prime and the lakers will be a top 8 team. It’s so bad, I can’t believe it.

Like they could’ve got Reaves on one of the best contracts in the NBA as well. They could have shopped the market and got Spurs to put in Keldon Johnston, Devin Vassell and 8 first round picks. It’s so stupid.

Have they said the reasoning for it?

Apparently they want defence first players and think their time to win is NOW. Also a little fed up of Luka’s conditioning, he came in the season like 265lbs when he should be around 240

Guess they’ll only be proven right if they win the championship. Haven’t been paying much attention to the NBA recently, do you think that’s remotely possible?

Well they got to the final last year and had the injury luck been different then it’s was likely, but the main reason they got there is Luka.

You almost always need a top 5 player to win it and they’ve just traded the 3rd best guy for the 11th or 12th best guy so that’s a big risk.

Kyrie with the size of Gafford/AD/Lively + Christie, Klay and Washington is a really good team, but still definitely behind the Thunder/Cavs/Celts. So it’s a huge short term risk for a team that isn’t good enough. Also worth noting that they got to the finals with Doncic leading in points, steals, rebounds and assists. He was the only reason they got there
