Bolton Wanderers v Port Vale

A damp looking day in Bolton as wanderers now sitting dizzily 2 points clear in 2nd place face old foes from the 92-93 promotion season port vale in 7th place one point off the play offs. Team news. Bolton likely to be unchanged. Although mavies, pratley and Thorpe are out long term everyone else appears to be fit although moxey and Clayton are being held back for now.

In your best Victor Meldrew voice "I don't believe it"

The Beano giddiness is now officially out of control today don't fall for the questions asking are we about to see White Hot part duex back when it happened the world and football was different.

We play in two different cups over the coming week no matter what the results don't you be getting all giddy thinking we are anywhere near close to being on a par with a time from days gone by. Should it ever happen again it would be more appropriate to name the era something else wouldn't it. The newspapers and sports reporters have gone to pot since those Rioch days haven't they.

Vela out Spearing out will the goalkeepers be rotated
something fishy going on ahead of this weekends proper cup game.
£18k on offer to this weekends winners best check your holiday entitlement and plan ahead for a visit to London in May there's that all important £1.8m star prize to aim for.

Be interesting how pp rotates the squad and what impaft 2 cup games and even a replay has on it. Can't see ameobi and Henry being allowed to play and with vela and spearing out down to bare bones.

Keep an eye on the youth cup game tonight for clues I understand PP will be in the crowd.
Will he watching with the a view to considering the youth options at the weekend or will he be there to get away from the Mrs

Tonight's youth cup game
Turner; Grant, Brockbank, Marsh, Lonsdale; Everest, Marsh, Jones-Griffiths; Samizadeh, Earing, White.
Subs: Moore, Aspinall, Politic, Abdo, Navarro

Will PP be keeping an eye on a couple of the young ones with a view to playing them in the real and toy cup. Perhaps a miracle giving young Alex a chance over 2 bigger games to do what our old broken washing machine can't do.

There's a reason why bookies wouldn't take a bet on the first goal scorer in this one.
Yep Alex slotted home should we ask if Madine was taking notes on how to stay on your feet and score rather than fall over to chew the grass.

In case you missed it 2-1 win for the young Whites Cameron Moore poked home the winner in extra time.

Now on to how to convince Newcastle to extend the loan of Ameobi to the end of the season it should be an easy one as his contract is up then provided the EFL allow it and we have enough beans left to pay all the fees involved.

Another one bites the dust.
Derik has done his back in. Did he twist it joining the UK in doing an about turn on leaving the EU.

Yet again we have had too many injuries in a season and we haven't hit bonfire night yet how many more during the real winter are we likely to see. Has anybody got a count of how many games key players have missed and how many of each type of injury we have suffered ?
Makes you wander what part has selling Euston and moving to lower grade pitches and facilities for training had in all these injuries.

What is important here is the need to formally lift all the transfer embargo and financial restrictions as soon as possible we may need the next windows for the run in. This being the season Chairman Ken says we need to move up a league to enable him to bring in outside investment.

Looks like Max could be in the squad for today PP says he's ready let's hope that's is fit and ready to start scoring again.
Will he be one of the 5 who has to start the next toy cup game if he plays and survives.
