November

So, great start to a season (minus the debacle versus Liverpool - still annoyed that it took us ages to pick up Mustafi) and keeping pace at the top. Was talking to my friends and thought we would need to win the 8 games (in all competitions) leading into November. Granted we failed versus Boro but they executed a game plan to perfection and could have won it all with better composure in front of goal.

So now November is here and we have back to back games in the league versus the enemy and Mr Despicable himself What would you find acceptable for results? If we draw Spurs, we could conceivably be 5th by Monday and will that be acceptable with us at home? Also, Spurs are floundering a bit and not scoring so maybe a chance for a win if we turn up (everyone is motivated for this game) and play it smartly. But spurs will be just as motivated and form goes out of the window with this one. Hoping for a win, but will take a draw.

Now the game vs United...somehow, we always contrive to lose at old trafford - even versus Moyes. So, how well do you think we will do? Would love to beat Utd to pile on the misery on Mourinho.

I'll take a draw vs PSG. but we need to thump the others to ensure top place in the group. November ( as it has done multiple times before) can either make us or break us.

I think we need to beat Spurs but we are pretty poor against high press so a draw seems most likely. I never expect anything at OT, will take a draw, but would love a win obviously.

Would love to win both and to be fair, if we want to challenge for the league, we should be looking to win these types of games...or at least not lose.

We have some tough games coming up with Everton and Man City in December as well. It will be interesting to see where we are after the holiday period.

We are not getting anything against Mourinho so have to get 3 points v Spurs which will be a very tough game

Going back to the Liverpool game, I wish we could face them just now. I'm sure the outcome would be different.

Yeah, because we've plummeted down the table since that game, and our performances haven't improved at all

Glad you're in agreement and accept that you will collapse no doubt. Good lad!

Maureen is likely to have either a touchline or even stadium ban when we face them following his rant at Clattenberg. Not sure if it will help us or them more tbh. Not having him distracting their players might help them.

We will also miss out on a bit of pantomime.

Absolutely have to beat spurs. We have to beat our rivals at home if we have a chance of winning the league and we have already lost to liverpool. Our second half of the season is tougher than first with us playing more tough away games so in my opinion its crucial we are top after the first time round. If not i would auggest we are unlikely to pick up the required points to win the league as we have a worse fixture list to come.
