Telling people how to behave. Laughable.
What would they do, suspend or ban England from their rigged, corrupt and scandal ridden competitions?
Here's hoping the FA have grown a pair and go right ahead with the poppies.

I think it's best just to keep political symbols out of it. The poppy might be something we're all behind but it still opens a door. I can see the argument against it

I kind of agree, but the poppy is to commemorate service people who have died in various wars, i'm not sure if it's really "political", but then war and politics are linked, so it's a tough one.

Wars are fought by soldiers but they're ordered by politicians. I think the link can definitely be made. I don't think anyone would disagree the British army has done some questionable things in its time.
I know the poppy is for the veterans not the politicians, but the link is still there so I can kind of understand it.

Aye, if they allowed poppies for the British Armed Forces then they'd either have to allow all political/war/conflict remembrance type imagery, or start trying to pick and choose what's acceptable and what isn't, which could potentially be a minefield...
I don't feel passionately about the poppy thing either way tbh, it would have been interesting to see what punishments would have been handed out by FIFA to the FA and the SFA though, considering their (and UEFA's) pathetic responses to racism, anti-semitism, homophobia etc in the past.

One countries heroes is another countries killers/terrorists. Its right to have a blanket ban on anything political/ war related.

Dot
What does the EU have to do with anything? This is a FIFA ruling. Besides, voting to leave the EU, and having already left, are two completely different things.
I, for one, think the war veterans are commemorated enough each year without the need to bring sport into it.
