settled on last night`s shambolic performance we can perhaps take a look at what has gone wrong. For a start Kane, Toby, Rose, Lamela and Dembele for most of the match were missing, that is nearly 50 per cent of Spurs strongest side. And we all know that take one or two out of the best side and they very rarely perform, Man City game being the exception.
Secondly Poch has a truly shocking record in cup football at WHL, the gimmee easy path to Wembley in his first season apart. He has lost so many home games in the past three seasons, Leicester Cup, Palace Cup, Arsenal League Cup, Dortmund Europa Cup, added with this now two Wembley home defeats against Monaco and Bayer, so it appears he obviously does not know how to handle the change from Prem to cup, other clubs manage it, Poch just does or cannot handle more than one competition. Contrast with his Prem Record of just half a dozen defeats in nearly 50 Prem games stretching over a couple of seasons. Chalk and cheese.
I think the way forward now is obviously to get Kane and Toby back in the side, move Dier back into midfield, that is where he was so strong, he is not a central defender, he may prefer it, but the defence looks weak without Toby. Play Dier with Wanyama. Dembele is fast becoming a sick note, so would need replacing anyway in my book, no good if he is only playing one game in six. Also stop tinkering with the full backs, Walker had a mare last night, but he is still the best right back, and whilst I had high hopes for Davies, it is so obvious Rose is better.
Poch is missing Toby of course, but he has played a combination of four full backs and four central defenders in the last three games, in three different competitions, and we wonder why the defence looks like it has never played together on last night`s performance. With Toby missing, it was vital that kept as solid a unit as possible until he returned, and constant chopping and changing is anything but. Poch left Walker at home for the first leg of the matches against Bayer. You have to ask why? He then left Rose sitting on the bench for the second leg, again you have to ask why? These are serious matches against serious teams. I just don`t get what Poch is trying to do, but whatever it is, it patently is not working.
Up front he is messing about with Janssen, he played well at Bayer, then he takes him off as first change. He then needs to win last night, and he leaves Janssen on the bench. Now his confidence is not going to improve much if Poch keeps messing about with him. Kane is missing, so Janssen has to play whatever his form, he is the back up striker.
Frankly until Kane and Toby return at least, I cannot see much upturn in Spurs fortunes, so it could get worse before it gets better. But in the meantime Poch needs to up his game on his team selections and his substitutions.
Right now that the dust has

Man City's fortunes turned on one good win, that's we need.

How long is Lamela out for?
We miss his industry when he dosn't play and a few of the dissenters must of noticed that last night. Actually some are so entrenched in their views they might not of?

for me this is a repeat of what happened at the end of last season, they look knackered no energy, is there a issue with poch training methods? expect a heavy defeat on Sunday 5-1 again, no way he can turn this around

I am not sure they look knackered, it is more the lack of the top personnel playing.
Looking at last night`s set up after Dembele went off. The whole of last year`s spine was missing, Toby at the back, Dier and Dembele in midfield and Kane up front, and it is showing big time.

Great article and echo's my thoughts!
I'm going to start drinking at 9am Sunday morning so I have no recollection of the bumming Arsenal give us
Seriously though, if Arsenal get an early goal we are facked.

Fair enough hoping that these players coming back will change things but i think its just clutching at straws. All have played at some time or other this season and there hasn't been much diff in the level of performance. Plus dembele is always facking injured again these days can't keep relying on him

Those players will make a huge difference, but it will still not alter the fact that the squad players in general are carp. Any more than one change from the strongest XI, and the team play three levels down. Poch just doesn`t seem to see this though, which is very worrying.

Drink will not alter the result, when you sober up.

It's like AVB all over again, our squad is way short and too many players are out of form. Eriksen is really slashing me off at the moment.
