I will probably get a lot of grief for this but I simply dont buy into the argument of needing to buy to be better than we are.
Put simply we absolutely have the players to be beating Stoke and Burnley et al.
The problem is the manager and mindset currently IMO
Lets take Carrick and Schweiny, old? yes capable of being used to play a game each or half each? yes
Young, a worldie? no but good enough against teams like stoke? absolutely
I am not saying we will win the champions league or even the EPL but I do think on paper we have better players than SAF had in last title win. No body is going to say a MF of Fletcher and cleverly etc is better, on paper at least, than Herrera and Pogba
SAF set up to win games, Jose sets up not to lose. THAT is a problem
We HAVE the players

Pogba is our best crosser, and our best passer in general imo. If he can work on his concentration he will become more consistent but, in terms of ability/skill, he is easily the best crosser we have.

Yeah but they're still better than Young's. Only time Young's crosses are remotely reasonable is when he plays on the right and they're still hit and miss.
...............
Hit and miss is a better ration then 95% miss which we are seeing with Wazza
Anyhow, off home. Catch you guys on Monday. Lets hope for a good weekend.

Disagree, LVG and Moyes set up not to lose. Jose wants to win every game and has his own methods . he has a proven track record

You missed the Liverpool game? Jose has a history of setting up his team to take a point against the better teams in the league.

I kid you not ran into Lou macari, in poundland of all places
2 things happened as I recognised him
1 we spoke about how dire yesterday was and he agreed we were better under LVG
And
2 spent more time than with Lou explaining to 2 heels working their who he was

Pogba has a lot of talent, granted sometimes he looks like bambi on ice, but he pulls it off. He does strike me as the sort of player who excels more as a member of the supporting cast rather than one who will take the game by the scruff of the neck. Another reason we need some real leaders or a forceful class act in midfield to free him of the burden.

Time for Pogba to stand up and be counted (when he's back). He's athletic, so he should cover every blade. He's strong, so he should be a bully in the midfield whom opponents fear. He's gifted, so he should provide a spark every now and again. He's been better than some have said, and I'm not suggesting he should be three times as good as a£30m player, but he can and should be doing more.

Its laughable people use the lazy journalism of LVG set his teams up not to lose. No team sets his team up not to lose yet makes the fewest defensive actions. We just camped in the final third virtually all game. Every team pretty much that visited OT even Man City 2nd parked the plane in front of the goal as they can't get out of own third let alone go past the half way line against a LVG team. LVG Man Utd reminded me of the 07-08 Barcelona team look a very impressive side but don't get the goals to show for complete territorial domination.
