Played his last game for Galaxy tonight, dont know for sure but i would expect he will be back at Anfield within a few months, whatever anyone says what a lift that will be for the club.
It gets better and better
Gerrard.

I don't want him back. For too long, it was the Gerrard show with a supporting cast.
Maybe in a few years but not now when things are going well. Why take a chance to disrupt the setup?
Also, if things do go pear-shaped, then Gerrard will be torn to shreds.

I'd be fine with Gerrard taking a coaching role, be it youth team or even first team.
For years it was the Gerrard show but for years he was able to overshadow the managers because of his on-field performances. That won't be the case now and I can't see Klopp allowing it anyway.
Personally I'd give him a go with the reserves. If it was good enough for Zidane at RM then it's good enough for Gerrard.

Many players from Liverpool and England said that he was a great captain and was fantastic with the young lads. I think any young player would show him respect as a coach. I really hope we can get him as a coach. He's learning from the best under Klopp

Don;t think it's a good idea for him to just come in as a first team coach, how would Linders feel if Gerrard was just thrown in for example.
But I doubt Gerrard either wants or expects to just get a first team coaching role anyway, he's not a stupid man and will want to do his own thing his way.

I don't even know why it is a discussion? As some have said according to the echo it seems a done deal that he will return as a coach... its just a question of when.

Give him a youth team to work with. Imagine getting trained by the legend.

Kopp doesn't seem the type to fast track someone..
If Gerrard comes back in, even if he's around the 1st team, klopp won't give him an easy ride, He's made it very clear in press conferences that past glories are irrelevant, and with Sturridge hes shown that past form/achievements are irrelevant.

This
I'd like him to work his way up from the youth set up. Let Klopp (hopefully) set the foundations for Gerrard to take over a few years later.

A few have mentioned here that Gerrard would perhaps become a distraction as he was such a high profile player and at times almost bigger than the team.
I don't think it's Gerrards fault that previous managers allowed that to happen.
He would be great for the youth team set up IMO

I'd personally get Gerrard back as a player coach.
With a few caveats mind. Firstly that he coaches the under 23s. And that's where most of his games would come as well. I've seen plenty of people say that Gerrard should be passing on his knowledge. What better way to do that than on the pitch with the younger players.
We've also then got him registered as a player to give Hendo a rest in maybe the early rounds of the FA Cup, or if we have a horrible injury crisis.
Plus we could also sneak him on for 5 mins here and there in case this season pans out as we hope it might.
But this role would need to be clearly with a view to coaching, and with no expectancy of him playing for the first team. That would need to be clear from the get go.
