The vultures are starting to circle again eying up our young players?

So Scott Allan can no doubt get more money elsewhere. Fair enough, he has made his decision not to re-sign for Utd. His choice, not much we can do about it.
Whether we should play him or not is debatable. I probably agree with Ivan in so much as if he is our best midfielder take advantage of it and play him. If he plays all season do we get more than £400k or is this almost 'set in stone'.
Anyway £400k for a player who has played 2 games is not bad business and how much did we get for Conway, Bauben, Gomis.
The big concern is the management of players contracts.
Why let someone with this amount of talent get to the stage of being in his last year.
Why let Bauben, Gomis, Coneway get anywhere near their final year?
Why only give Swanson a 1 year extension so we are back at stage one again this season?
As well as Swanson we have Kenneth, Dixon, Severin, Pernis all in their final year.

I would make him rot for being such a thick wee ned.
OK, we should have tied him down on a longer deal as i am sure everyone at tanny knew how much talent he had long before he made his 2 first team appearances.
If the examples of the likes of Goody/Macarther/Macarthy etc serving their time and getting experience & improving in SPL and then getting their big money move to the EPL have not been learned then i despair.
Would guarentee that if this guy moves just now that will be his career pretty much over. He may double his money overnight, but he will never make the proper big money that is potentially there for him in 2 or 3 years if he plays regular 1st team football in the SPL for DU.
No player should be anywhere near our squad if he doesn't want to play for us, and after all we have done for this lad (Broken leg, Illness, police charges) it will annoy me much more than a Conway/Gomis leaving after giving us 3 or 4 great years.
He has done nothing in the game yet, and we will get the same amount for him if we play him or not, so for me it would be sit at home and rot for a year.

Anyone remember Paul Slane - a guy that put in a couple of good appearances for Motherwell then signed for Celtic?
No, me neither.

Paul Slane was injured all last season, he started his comeback towards the end of August

he is a Rangers fan.i remember him from rosshall and i know a few of his cousins aswell
wasn't the best player in the school but was the only one who didn't go out and start drinking and taking drugs when he was 14 like everybody else
if he has a choice of these 4 teams mentioned i'm sure the logical choice would be Rangers?
i think he still stays literally 5 minutes along the road from Ibrox
could quadruple his wages to play for Rangers or stay and play every week at dundee utd
don't think he will sign for celtic if he did have the option of Rangers and a premier league team
don't think he would fancy going away to newcastle and probally never playing
is he good enough?

Scott Allan has the potential to be an excellent player. It's a bit early to start slagging the boy and saying you want him to sit on the bench for not signing a new deal. This is all paper talk and rumours. I am sure Scott Allan is wise enough to know that moving to the old firm or Newcastle United is not a good career move at this early stage of his career.
Have some faith in Peter Houston and Stephen Thompson. They played it spot on with Goodie and I am sure Scott has seen the positive aspects of staying at united and playing first team football.

For all those who are saying it would not be a good carear move to go to EPL. I think the likes of Andy Caroll, the boy Jones and all the other youngsters in the Man U team would prove otherwise. Do the EPL teams not have a youth system for him to develop his carear. Of course they do.

Tino , no offence to Scott Allan but Jones and Carroll are exceptional tallents. Jones will go on to be an England captain. Allan has played 3 first team games for United. Best thing for him is to stay put and progress playing first team football. He will not get that in England or OF. That's just my opinion of course and I respect yours!

Although I get what you're saying Tino about the English bringing through youngsters, I'd suggest that's maybe got something to do with the homegrown rule that UEFA are enforcing and the big clubs feel they need to buy and play young English developed talent like Carroll (even though he's a donkey), Jones, Smalling, Henderson etc and pay big money for them.
As I said earlier though, I'd hope he'd show a bit of loyalty to United but then maybe I'm hoping for too much in this day and age. We were maybe spoiled by Goodie's position.
