QPR boss Neil Warnock is set to re-sign Tottenham defender Kyle Walker on loan for the whole of next season.
The 21-year-old had a spell at the club in the first half of last season before he moved to Aston Villa for the second half of the campaign.
Highly-rated by England chief Fabio Capello, Walker had been expected to return to Villa Park but the departure of Gerard Houllier as Villa manager makes that move unlikely - and it could facilitate the ex-Sheffield United defender's return to Loftus Road.
One stumbling block could be Harry Redknapp's need to add to his defence at White Hart

It would be great to see Kyle Walker back at Loftus Road but surely he's a better right back than Tottenham last season?
I hope we start getting some new players in soon. I can't believe we couldn't match the £3.5m Swansea paid for Danny Graham and Jamie O'Hara would have been worth a go to.
I just how the management at QPR are ahead of the game or else we may get left behind in this transfer window.

I heard we were after Naughton aswell. Be brilliant if we get them on a season long loan, two quality players. Can't see them playin at tottenham even though they have proven they are good enough

this would be a great bit of business. I loved watching Walker play lat season - definitely premiership class. I can't believe Tottenham won't play him but then they couldn't find a place for Taarabt either...who knows, we could be getting Modric on loan before the window is out
