The First Minister, who had repeatedly made clear her support for Hillary Clinton, said it was not the result she had hoped for but “the verdict of the American people must be respected."
Reacting to Mr Trump’s shock victory, Ms Sturgeon said: "While this is not the outcome I hoped for, it is the verdict of the American people and we must respect it. I congratulate president-elect Trump on winning the election."
The First Minister also paid tribute to Mrs Clinton, arguing her candidacy for the Democrats “represented a major step forward for women."
Should we have a 2nd election??

Did Trump not get in with the lowest a,punt of votes for any President since the 70's?
America only has itself to blame for not bothering their erses to go out and vote, although I can't blame them.. Clinton was hardly a great alternative. At least with Trump they can have a bit of a laugh. Paddy Power already giving out odds on him being impeached while President
Maybe if enough people voted for he alternative candidates (who were both completely fvcking hopeless too) then the main two parties may have sat up and realised their core vote isn't as secure as it has been for decades and that they have more to worry about than losing votes just to their direct political rival.

JFK
Alot of closet Xenophobes, I have joked to the wife that we will move back to Scotland if Trump got the presidency, It is going to be interesting, what we do know is all the rhetoric he spouted to get him there, like the wall and a ban on muslims aint going to happen and jailing Crooked Hillary, I actually beleive his bark is worse than his bite!
When he fails to deliver all the maufacturing jobs back to America, he will be out in 4 years!

mccann he knows little or nothing of politics so someone will have to help him.
so basically whoever is pulling those strings will be in charge, and he will have a teleprompter the majority of the time.

He'll no last the full term.
Not when he realises how big the job is, and how you can't just have everything your own way. He doesn't know how to compromise so he'll instead just blame everyone else before quitting.

We could go into semantics here
The people DIDN'T want it is one view but Brexit has changed that along with many broken "vows"
An excuse that forgets Independence was taking us out of Europe and being behind Turkey to get back in
Could have taken decades (as it has the Turks) buts lets forget that.......
The other way is the Scottish people DID want it. Off the top of my head it was about 60% of Scottish born voted for it, it was those who now reside in Scotland that are not from there that swung the vote.
A more racist comment Ive yet to read
Scotish Born
What about first gen Scots or second you want to draw a line on who is and who is not Scottish..
Like a Scotish version of the EDL BNP SNP (opps those racist are Scottish)
Adolf said similar stuff FFS
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I could most certainly point you in the direction of racist stuff.
I could also ask you why those who were born in Scotland but serving overseas were not allowed to vote?
Pfft
discuss
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ive no idea.
But you did say 'The Scottish People' were those born here
So Im gauging they are IYO more important than those who live here but were born elsewhere
Kind of EDL BNP that thinking.
