I imagine this has already been covered, but I quite enjoyed watching us play 343 the other day. It's a brilliant formation if you have the players for it, some people think you have less men involved in the attacks, but at times it's actually more.
Lloris
Walker Toby Vertonghen
Sissoko Wanyama Dembele Rose
Lamela Kane Eriksen
Subs: Janssen, Son, Alli, Dier, Trippier, Davies & Vorm
I believe Walker would play better as a Right Centre Back in a 3 because at times you are covering two positions (RCB & RB) and Dier doesn't seem mobile enough for that. Kyle and Vert can both carry the ball well too.
The midfield 4 is a solid row and I think that would help with our pressing game and winning the ball back further up the pitch. The front 3 would be relieved of any defensive duties and that would hopefully bring out the best in them.
Lastly, on to the bench, I think it looks fairly strong with a lot of options. Son is too greedy at times for me so Lamela gets the nod. Wimmer is the only one who is unlucky to miss out but Davies is slightly more versatile since he can play Left back and Left Centre back in a back 3 as he does for Wales.
Hopefully with Harry back in the team we'll start scoring some more goals, if not, an attacking signing is a must in January.

Alright big Kabouls
Sorry to be pedantic, It is always classed as 5 at the back, does not matter if it is full back or wing back aslong as the starting positioning of the fb/wb on or off the ball is alongside the centre backs or just in front.
Technically you cannot have a 3-5-2 unless the widest midfielders are positioned on or in front of the half way line.
Good shout with Walker would be fine as a splitting centre back can play there, very underated defender. Made his debut as a sub for us at centre back played there previously for sheffield united can also famously play left back winning man of the match everytime he has played there (albeit in the championship)..
I think three up front would be too much for us as we play quite conservative. But I would like to see son-kane-lamela in the final third with the midfield pushed right up the pitch against the likes of dour burnley because it would give us a different options.
Given the way we press aswell i think we could camp in the opponents half using three up top.
Love debating tactics.

Tactics don't quite float my boat as much as actually putting the ball in the net. Football is such a simple game, made to seem like a game of chess by overpaid coaches and managers, who frankly when that round thing called the football is pinging about all over the pitch have absolutely no control on it at all.
What was the tactical decision to stop Wimmer heading the ball into his own net last weekend? Football is about what happens on the pitch, not in some coaches head.

Can with just have a formation where the team scores goals and does not concede. Far too much is made of all these different formations. Bottom line is you have to score goals, and you have to stop goals going in the net. Such a simple game, that is being made to look difficult by all the coaches and their formations.
Sorry fellas, but I am old school 11 v 11, is what football should be all about.

Without sounding to harsh, that is a ridiculous comment, formations can be the difference between winning and losing a game. Tactical decisions is what top class managers are paid for.

what a plank.
the issue is, sandy, that the opposition will be saying exactly the same thing, and both teams cannot win, therefore you need to find a way to play to allow you to score more and concede less than the opposition. i.e. tactics, formations, patterns of play, style
what an absolute plank you are.
someone please copy and paste it so that the old bat can see it. hes been suffering from filteritis again

I agree with sandy, just have 22 players chasing the ball like 2 year olds π
