Following his valiant effort against Gennady Golovkin on the September 10,many expected Brook to vacate his 147 title and either move up to 154 or 160 but it seems special K has other plans. He's targeting a unification bout with Pacquio or a fight with Khan but if those fights do not materialise he is open to facing Spence. I personally think he is better suited to 147 in terms of the size advantage he holds and there are bigger fights for him at that weight than at 154. Garcia vs Thurman has been pencilled in for March and with Brook staying at 147, 2017 looks to be an exciting year for the welterweight division.

They need to start fighting each other though. Out of those names only Porter vs Brook, Porter vs Thurman and Bradley vs Pacquiao has actually happened yet at 147.

Yup Garcia vs Thurman is a very exciting fight although is it 100% signed yet?
Brook will fight Spence next I suspect as the IBF are strict about mandatories in what would be a very tough fight. Everyone wants to see Khan vs Brook though apart from Khan it seems.
As for Pacquiao he seems most interested in the Mayweather rematch if he can get it.

I'm naturally cautious of any fight that hasn't been officially signed as I'm sure you're already aware. Thurman v Danny Swift will be a great fight if it happens though. Stylistically it has to be.
Hopefully Brook beats Spence (if they fight) so that Khan will have nowhere to go but to fight Brook.
Pac v May 2 is by far still the biggest money making fight in boxing even if it doesn't get close to the figures of the first fight and Floyd will be very tempted by the prospect of it I suspect. Who knows though.

He does indeed kill himself to get down to 147 but at the same time he's done so and won a world title out of doing so. It's clearly not the best weight for him but why forfeit something he's worked for? If he's going to lose the belt then he might as well do so in the ring. If and when that does happen, move up to 154.

Brook knows theres no big money fights at 154 and he knows he gets beat by andrade, lara and one of twins. Canelo moving up to middleweight and cotton moving down to 147.
