We do like to be beside the seaside ....

Let's hope our visit to Brighton brings some cheer. A difficult game in some ways; Brighton are on a role. They make full use of what they've got, but my own feeling is that their current position flatters them a bit; they're good but not that good.

Think Bruce will play it tight, and with patience. But we're now capable of nicking the odd goal. I'm going to be optimistic; I think we'll edge it.

I'd go for something like:

Gollini
Hutton Baker Chester Amavi
Bacuna Jedinak/Toshiba Gardner
Ayew Kodjia Grealish/Adomah

Thoughts?

Villa deserved the win. All over Brighton in that second half.

Kodja really is a top player. Some quality in your team!

A worthy point, if disappointed not to get three. We need fear no team in this division. But we have to start grabbing the 3 points off lesser teams.

The squad looks better and better under Bruce.

I was hoping you'd get something out of 'the seaweed'. A solid point that could easily have been all three.
Good game. Good performance. Well done

Definitely a good point, thought we deserved to win though. Next two home games are Cardiff and Wigan - can't be expecting anything, but we really should be winning both of those. Next two away are more tricky - Leeds and Norwich. If we can get between 8 and 12 points from next four that would be a good return.

I have to say, Ayew & Grealish are fantastic footballers, Adomah is direct and dangerous, and Kodjia is a great goalscorer. We should be playing with all four of these players at least at home.

If we could get someone in January to partner Jedinak & improve CM (Mooy at Huddersfield or Hughes at Derby both look really good, or someone like RLC on loan), a RB so we don't have to play Hutton, and maybe another quality loan signing (e.g. Origi from Liverpool might fancy some game time and would smash the Championship) then we will definitely be up there. We need to be bold and ambitious in January and improve on weak areas of the team.

Yes. Hutton is pants. You definitely need a decent RB.
He tries.. but he is League 1 at best.
