Lol
Injured on 15th October, its now the end of November and he apparently won't even be back for Chelsea.
As an aside note, why did we not sign anybody that would have been swayed by us being in the CL? All our signings would have most likely have come to us even without CL - so how have we benefitted from CL this season except for the shareholders making money?
Toby Alderweireld

I was thinking that myself.
"Great, we're in the Champions League, so we should sign the player who helped get Newcastle relegated!!"

On the bright side it's a young squad, they've had a taste, maybe it'll galvanise them? Make them hungrier. They've got experience now.

Spurs always do this with injuries. Basically say nothing, but intimate that the player in question is not as bad as first feared.
Then lo and behold, said player is out for a lengthy period of time.
Did this with Kane this season and he was out for seven weeks, same now with Alderweireld.

Did this with 2010-2011 season and we were out for five years , same now with this team.

I said at the time we won't see him until January. You can just tell the way Spurs are handling the injury.

Think it was the same with Walker a couple of season back. They led us to believe he would be back soon but the real case was that he was out for 5 months or so.

Who gets the money?
It's the players. Even bigger wages and apparent loftier status because they played Monaco in European competition
All pointless really

At the moment, Levy is not going to spend big money of proven stars, maybe once we are into the new stadium he will, who knows.
Levy likes to sign young players with potential rather than proven performers, because (a) they are cheaper and (b) he can pay them less.
That`s good from a business point of view when you are building a new stadium but no good when you are building a squad to challenge in the PL and CL sadly.

Agreed but it would not be so bad if we took the EFL and the FA Cup seriously but we dont even do that which annoys the hell out of me
