I was massively enthusiastic about him returning and have always been a big fan, even after he scored that goal against us at the bridge, I was there and was surprised at his celebration but it never stopped me from disliking him!
I love his passion and enthusiasm for the game, he's proved ALOT of doubters wrong and it winds me up when our own fans jumped on that ldiot Gary Nevilles comment as I feel he is a fantastic defender that is remembered for 3 mistakes in 10 years yet someone like Gary "I'm englands best defender" Cahill can consistently mess up and not a word is said..
Will he be our next captain? I feel like the club is certainly marketing him as that, he seems to be everywhere at the moment around Chelsea and I welcome that as for me he's a big game player... in a squad which we've lacked in recent years!
One other thing... we were right to sell at the time for £50 million as that was just stupid from PSG

I'm so happy having Wahl filtered. His relentless ball licking of Jose was getting so tiring. Honestly, whatever the discussion, he always seems to talk about Jose.

I've been on this forum the start and before on the old 606 forum and not once have I filtered anyone. For him I made a exception. As never have I encountered someone so desperate for attention.

I've always aired on the glass half full aspects of Luiz, mostly because he signed at a time when the notion of a 'ball playing defender' was practically a revolutionary concept for us. Funnily enough looking back, you can see his signing marking the start of us transitioning into a more expressive, technically fluent side.
Great with the ball at his feet, good set piece option, and when the switch doesn't go off in his head a pretty good CB. Great locker room presence too, a great ambassador for the club in general.

Has been utterly imperious for us in my view this term...in a formation that obviously suits him
Ivan & JT seems a long time ago...& in all honesty for the best now

It's actually quite surprising that in a formation where at least one of the defenders are given license to push into midfield, Luiz is the one given the most responsibility to hold his position.
Genius by Conte really. The role he's been given dictates he can't compromise his position, which is giving him a better mentality as a more complete defender. So when we pick up another defender to take his role, he'll move to the side and be given the freedom to play his natural game while having a much more tactful attitude after his experiences this season. Fantastic man management here.

Wonder how Zouma will fare if he's selected and partners him...

Hopefully well sheriff, azpi and luiz have taken to it like a duck to water, cahill has got more solid and stopped doing that spazzy cut back thing when he gets to half way.
Im sure zouma is already functioning in that formation in training and such. A bit more clumsy then cahill and azpi though but would maybe be good behind alonso on the left of the three to cover alonso with his pace.
