So Haye v Bellew confirmed for March and at heavyweight!
Thoughts?
Persoanlly don't like Haye, he is a very good boxer and I do like watching him fight, but I really didn't like how he's dicked a few fighters around and also the build up to the Klit fight he was a real cant. Then he goes and spends half the fight on his kness, and complains about a broken toe
But he can be excellent to watch and no denying his skill set and power in that overhand right.
Bellew! Well he's a blue so there's that , he's a mouth too and in a nasty way at times, so find it hard to like him, but he can be funny too, like Haye in that respect.
I'm a bit surprised they didn't go at a catch weight, Bellew does carry a bit of weight so can probably step up without it being too dramatic a change to his style.
Just can't see past a Haye KO, he's got better hand and feet movement, hand speed and more power, Bellew isn't a great boxer, he's tough and has power in that left hand but I'm struggling to see where he gains an advantage on Haye in any aspect.
The build up will be funny, looking forward to seeing them either side of Johnny Nelson around the table, that will be hilarious.
What's everyone thinking?

Trash talk is just marketing.
There are more casual fans (much uch more) than than purists.
As a promoter\boxer your aim is to attract as many fans as possible. Regardless of the WWE stuff, the purists will watch the fight.....the casuals wont. They buy into the whole marketing peace

The casual goes to the odd fight night, spends money at the venue on top of the tickets and at least contributes financially by paying to view even if the match up is a dud.
The so called experts on here spend fook all and stream every event they can while painting themselves as some expert supporter. It's not chess ffs its fighting with fists.

The boxing snobbery in this thread is rediculous. Every sport sport has its 'casuals'. And the WWE link is just pathetic.
I don't watch La Liga but I watch Barca v RM.
I've watched more US or Australian Open finals than I've seen qualifying matches.
I've watched more international games of rugby than I have club games.
People are attracted to high profile, get over it.
As for the fight, easy win for Haye. He is, at his best, very talented boxer. Should beat Bellew within 5 and that's only because I think Bellew has decent punch resistance. If Haye catches him clean it'll be sooner.

Thought's on this weekends card Mr C? Most likely a straigth forward win for AJ I'd imagine, although Molina (spelling) has decent power but hard to see him causing AJ any real problems.
Persoanlly excited to watch Katie Taylor again in her second pro fight, she's an Irish treasure but she's a very skilled boxer too.

The only fight i'm looking forward to is Katie Taylor's and that's only cause the lil miss is fascinated that everyone loves her as a women boxer.
AJ/Molina is another waste of time, and as for the other 2 brawling (is it Chisora/Whyte that's how little i care) if we had decent match ups we wouldn't need it.
P.S good post Can Solo, alas unless your actually D4 your classed as a casual as an insult?????

RM vs Barcelona, The Grand Slams in tennis, similar blue ribbon match ups in sport do bring the crowds in, people love top class events and fierce competition.
But this is a far cry from happens in boxing. It not the best that casuals are drawn to or the competitive and intriguing matches it is the drama outside the ring and good promotions.
As clearly seen on how casual ignore many of the best fighters, fantastic match ups and get drawn in by hyped up mismatches and pseudo celebrity boxers who are past their sell by date, or just the next hype machine golden boy.
