Bournemouth 4-3 Liverpool Live Match Thread

Sun, 04 Dec 2016 Premier League, 1.30pm KO

LFC: Karius, Clyne, Lovren, Lucas, Milner, Can, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Mane, Firmino, Origi.

Subs: Mig, Lallana, TAA, Ejaria, Woodburn, Moreno, Klavan.

Head-to-head

Liverpool have never lost to Bournemouth in nine meetings in all competitions, dating back to 1927 (W7, D2).
The Reds made their first ever league visit to the Cherries last season, winning 2-1 in April.

Bournemouth
Bournemouth have lost three of their last four league matches but they have only suffered one defeat in their last five home league games (W3, D1).
Since beating Hull 6-1 on 15 October, the Cherries have scored just three goals in five games.
Six of Bournemouth's last nine Premier League goals have come from set pieces.
The Cherries have hit the woodwork 10 times this season (including Jack Wilshere four times and Junior Stanislas three), more than any other Premier League side.

Liverpool
Liverpool are unbeaten in 11 league matches (W8, D3), which is their longest run without defeat since March 2015 when they went 13 games unbeaten under Brendan Rodgers.
If Jurgen Klopp's side win, their points total of 33 would equal their best tally after 14 matches in the Premier League era, set in 2008-09.
They have covered more distance (1514.2 km) and made more sprints (7706) than any other Premier League team this season.
The Reds have scored 13 goals from set-pieces this season - four more than next-best West Ham.
Jordan Henderson has completed more passes (997) and covered more distance (155.1km) than any Premier League player this season.

How's the title race going? Another easy 3 points I assume?

Where's the mug GB
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's going better than Spurs'.

Unlike Spurs we don't get given matches with dodgy penalties for us when we didn't deserve anything from the game but still we are doing as well as we hoped for going into the season.

Actually, we won 5 0 yesterday. I didn't spend the previous week talking about an easy 3 points

You did. As we've seen this season when weaker teams come and sit deep defending and it's difficult to break them down this season. Spurs have found that out also. Getting the first goal changes the whole game and being given it with a dodgy penalty makes it much easier. The opposition then have to come out which plays into your hands.

The same should have happened today but our keeper gave them the game.

I don't think Liverpool can shut up shop, we're best attacking and pinning teams back.

Bournemouth couldn't breathe for opening half hour and once we cooled off and tried to play the defensive balls, we ballsed it up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
At that time both attack and defending was failing. Lost that spark Mane gave us. Only option was to bring a defender on and put Lucas into midfield or play a back 3.

If we had coutinho and mane still on pitch then still attack but the defence was crying out for help and Klopp didn't react.

You seem to have taken what I said and created something else. Are you a bit stupid? Perhaps a but young and naive?

It all failed. They made changes albeit with a bit of luck with injuries for them and us, changing it in their favour, we struggled to react, we didn't have the players, due to injuries to Coutinho, Sturridge, Ings and then Mane to do that offensively so should have closed up and played from there. Easy to say in hindsight though.
