Daniel Sturridge

I know this is a far fetched idea so I'll put it out there anyway, if only for a discussion rather than a suggestion. If in the remotest chance we could acquire Daniel Sturridge, as I can't imagine he's enjoying life much at Liverpool right now; as unlikely as them selling to us as it would be and us being able to stump up what they'd be asking, would you take him at Spurs?

The biggest gripe would be his injury record, but could it be that, much like Wilshere, he could benefit from being elsewhere getting game time gradually to become a more reliable and less injury-prone player?

Forget for a minute where he'd be sold to, would Liverpool fans be as bothered if he were to leave their club?

I'd multiboard to include Liverpool, but their fans are already on here.

Either you are filtered, banned from the board, or the article is genuinely closed for comments.

Why on earth would you want to add Sturridge to our roster??
Just a royal pain in the butt for the manager

Not a massive Sturridge fan.....I believe his experience at LFC under Klopp demonstrate perfectly that in the modern game a specialist striker has to offer more to the team than just goals.

Unless they are paired with a partner then often this sort of out and out striker can be somewhat one dimensional, and most teams these days are full of more dynamic players who all work hard and are almost interchangeable. LFC certainly play a very fluid system where players movement is constant and each works as hard as eachother. Sturridge is a bit of a weak link in this respect, hence he's been dropped consistently by Klopp.

For the same reason he'd not fit the Spurs syste either, If we were after a goal getting super sub then I'd rather go back in for Defoe than what would be a very expensive Sturridge who would be expecting to start. Having said that a proper 442 or 4411 with Kane & Studge could work quite well, just so long as Studge isnt made to play wide.
