Would Gazza fit in?

Easily one of the most talented footballers to wear the white shirt, do you think Poch would pick him if he was here and now?

He even survived the great celebrity cull of 2016....no mean feat in itself

Gazza would be a disaster in the modern game.

He would make players like Balotelli and Mido look like serious professionals.

Why do people even give a damn about him anymore? Bought it all upon himself. Just getting annoying now listening about him having another drunken moment.

Are you serious? He's got severe mental issues! It's not just a case of switching it off to avoid getting plastered. Unbelievable ignorance! You almost make it sound like he wants the attention which couldn't be further from the truth. If he can live his life without the glare of the press and exploitative family members currently living off his name on Big Brother, he might stand a chance! He was always destructive and I don't think the modern game would have changed that, nor does the exhausted opinion that Ferguson would have succeeded where Venables failed. Utter nonsense! This would have emerged no matter the team or the manager.

He should just be left alone. All the time he grabs headlines, he never will be. The price of genius!

Genius football player would he get in this side? First name on the sheet without a shadow of doubt.

We talk about footballing brains gazza had the footballing brain. positional sense, self awareness, spatial awareness. In today's tactical game between the lines and the gaps in formation he would be formidable.

Luka Modric suffers the same fate put them in a form of intelligence test they would look borderline stupid, on a football pitch 2 steps ahead of everyone else. That footballing brain does exist.

I feel sorry for gazza because whilst his drinking is well documented what's not documented is the media leaving alcohol outside his house, his family deserting in (that bianca will be in tears inside big brother soon all fake of course) his friends deserting him. What's not documented is how much money he gave to others and to charities where are they now? Why does he get no credit for that?

It's a bizarre state of this country that the people who help others the most never get the credit they deserve, yet the people who do nothing for others like the reality television era we live in get treated like gods in the media. See the criticism of gazza, George Michael, police, paramedics, soldiers, even the royal family get constant negativity. Yet a Scarlett Moffat type is treated like a hero. Weird.

I'm not for one second saying gazza has not had chances but he at least deserves a bit more respect. I hope somehow he turns his life around.

Not my words, the man himself. Waldo signed him twice. Not Waldos biggest fan but if anyone in football took time to help Gazza it was Smith

Of cours Gazza would get in this Spurs team. As LLM said first name on the sheet. He was a genius of a player and with this team and coach around him we would win the league.

Like other geniuses in their profession - Maradonna, George Best, Hurricane Higgins in snooker, Kurt Cobain etc people born with a god given talent but couldn't handle the fame that came their way and had that self destruct mechanism this is Gazza.

I adored him as a player but after he beat up his wife Sheryl I lost my admiration of him as a man. I just wish he would sort himself out but unfortunately he won't and it seems he is a lost cause and won't be on this planet much longer.
