We all know we've struggled defensively this season and also failed to create as many chances but with the addition of Ndidi and Mendy back to full fitness to join Drinky in the middle, we look like we might have solved our defensive woes but I was wondering if it might also improve our creativity too.
Along with Mahrez, Drinky is another player who can unlock defences with threaded balls like we saw at Everton but he needs to be in more advanced positions to do so. So now we have Ndidi and Mendy sharing the defensive work maybe it will free Drinky up to get forward more thus giving us an additional creative edge?
Anyone any thoughts on that?

Having beaten off competition from Guardiola -Mourhino- Klopp-Zidane and True Blue to win the FIFA world coach award , I expect Ranieri will best use the resource available to him and system to match.

Agree CoE.
Unless we're looking for width and crosses, 4-3-3 is probably better.
However, 3-5-2 maybe a more defensively strong option when we do want to whip balls in to Slimani and use his strengths.

Bit of a Captain Obvious comment but yeah we're discussing the resources he has available to him and generating ideas about what systems he could use. Do you have any input on formations or team selections?

Exactly, every game is approached individually and the more options we have the more chance we have of setting up for each game to give us the best chance of winning.
The encouraging thing now is not only do we have a plan b and c, the players seem to understand the changes and are adapting to switches in formation with little fuss.

Very positive to realise that with the simple addition of Ndidi our options have increased drastically.
Let's hope he stays fit now 😳

I think Mendy coming back and switching to three in the middle has been the biggest difference in recent weeks, before Ndidi signed. No doubt he's providing the reason for the positivity moving forward though and will really help make the midfield three work.
I know you still have reservations about Musa and they're fair enough but him and Gray look to be getting better and I think will only get better as the season goes on. With Schlupp on his way we should get Brady and with Drinky hopefully getting further forward, I'm seeing quite a few reasons to feel more positive.

I still don't see what the fuss is about regarding Mendy. He had a decent game against Everton, but that was his first one and the other two midfielders both outshone him for me. Personally I think the biggest difference I've seen is a change in attitude. It usually takes a while for results to come after a change for the better on that front, and it's just a shame we've got fixtures like Chelsea coming up as a block to gaining momentum.

For me it's not because his performances have been world beating it's the added body in there that's made the difference. The fact he's looking like he's settling in is a reason for positivity.
Yes you're right attitude is also a key factor.

Mendy's got a lot of energy which helps that midfield. He's the Robbie savage of the 3. Not the best or most talented but does a job which helps the others play.
Whilst he's not been world beating Dunge, he's not been poor either.

He completed the second highest amount of passes in Ligue 1 last season and had something silly like 95% accuracy so he's more than just a Robbie Savage.
