Hi All,
Just wanted to see what your views are on the fact the new FF7 remake will be episodes,
I am excited for the remake but at the same time will obviously have doubts about some of the decisons that are made.
what will the episodes be like?
How many will there be?
Is it going to be weird getting to the temple of ancients and then the episode finishes only for us to have to wait 6 months for the next one?
if that is the case wont people get bored? or fed up?
will it not feel like an RPG and more like a telltale game in that sense?
will it take away the fact of it being an RPG if its broken up into parts?
What if the episodes are silly and its in 10 parts?
Personally, I would rather they did it like FF15 and it all came out in one part but then they can add DLC at another time... BUT not stuff that was in the original game, I mean DLC of extra side quests
Views??
Final Fantasy 7..... episodes

I dont think the episodes will be short I still imagine it will be like 20 hours gameplay per episode or at least I hope . The original had to be split up into three disks so size was a problem back then and budgets and economy wasnt anywhere near as important then as it is now.

Can you jump into episode 3 without having 2? Will the development of your character be saved between episodes or will you start at a base level each time?

this is good points that I hadnt thought of to be fair Hoop. I automatically assumed it would continue over as I will buy them all that thought had not entered my head at all.

Would wager it picks up your save file, it would have too otherwise no incentive to level up.

It's a daft choice and one that the latest Hitman seems to have suffered from.
I'd only ever consider buying an episodic game once all episodes are released.

You think Hitman suffered?
Most people although didnt like it at first came round to it. And I think made quite a few peoples GOTY contenders list.
Also by all accounts each episode IS a game. So this is LOTR style, we know we are making 3 movies. Here you are going to have 3 plus games make the overall arc of the game. So dont confuse this with your Telltales, or even your Hitmans.
Please be aware all my info is from on the fly translations etc etc from shows last year so subject to change and interpretation

Episode one - Midgar
Episode two out of Midgar to the death of aeris
Episode three aeris death to where cloud falls into life stream
Episode 4 cid in charge
Episode 5 cloud back until the end
Or they could so episode one till the death of aeris to knock it down to 4
Truth is there are so many plot points that you could end each episode at a number of points if you wanted cliff hangers.
Is love to see the other games remade as the DLCs

Critically it fared well, but it's only shifted 500,000 units on Steam. That's pretty poor for a Hitman game.
