Until we sort out our defensive weaknesses we will never win the league and better teams than Swansea will exploit those weaknesses. The gaps we open up and opportunities we offer teams are frightening. It doesn't matter how good individual defenders are, this has been a constant weakness in Arsenal teams over the last dozen years. I am disappointed that Steve Bould hasn't corrected this glaring weakness, but maybe Wenger is the problem. Who knows. We're top scorers in the league but not top dogs. It must be frustrating for our scorers to know that they are producing top of the table performance when our defensive performance is so average for players of such quality.

I agree, the Accrington defence is leaking goals recently.

We have a very good defence. We just dont have as good backup until Per is fit again.
One of our biggest problems has been midfield and in particular Xhaka. He played deeper yesterday which gave him more time on the ball when we are attacking and put him close to the defence when we were defending, which hopefully is the answer for him. Too many times he has left us wide open in midfield meaning the opposition is able ot go past our midfield unchallenged. Yesterday Ramsey did the job of closing down play and obstructing their play in from of what became nearer a back 5 with Xhaka deep. What Xhaka usually does well is catch up with the ball when one of our defenders has already broken up the play which makes his stats look good.

When you've got a manager who spends 35m on garbage like Mustafi you know there's no hope. Just look at the majority of his defensive signings throughout the years, Squillaci, Sylvestre, Chambers, Holding, Jenkinson, Debuchy etc.
He signs the occasional gem like Koscielny and people think he has an eye for talent, it's an exception rather than a constant.
The guy just doesn't have a plan, he went from Manolas to Mustafi in the summer, two completely different profile of defenders, he doesn't know what he wants.
Just like his tactics, it's all random. He picks XI random players and tells them to go out there and play. No tactics, no gameplan. This is a guy who tried playing possession football with Cech in goal, Mertesacker in defence and Flamini in midfield.
Until he dies nothing is changing.

good evening boss.
You still on Wenger's pipe? What are the excuses these days? Still can't compete with oil money?
