Let's put the rights and wrongs of him playing for Pakistan again to one side as the powers that be (ICC) say he can play cricket again.
He's gone and take 4-33 in the latest first class match and he bowled a couple of players with ball pitching outside the offstump that came back to crash into the wickets.
With Pakistan's bowling ridiculously bad outside Pakistan, could he get a call up if he keeps up with his metronomic line?
Could Asif play for Pakistan again?

Of course he should play, if he has done his time and proven himself, he should play.
But don't expect miracles, you can't just come back to test cricket after 5-6 years and pick up where you left off.

He can't be worse than some of the dross we've seen over the last few months. He does seem to be getting better and better as time passes. I wouldn't worry about his age; he's still got enough ability to get back in the test team.
Of course it's extremely frustrating to have lost Asif and Amir for all those years. What idiots. I think Pakistan would have comfortably been the best side in the world with Asif, Amir and Ajmal as the main focus of the attack and backed up with Junaid Khan etc.

No way
He was very good but this guy is an absolute clown. He's been done for other things as well as the no ball scandal. There was cocaine in his wallet at an airport and something else which i can't quite recall
He's also around 35 so a bit old for a fast bowler to come back onto the scene.

He's allowed to come back. Why go on about his past as nauseum?

The ICC has given him the green light. Let's just focus on the here and now. They'll pick him if he's good enough. I'm asking is he good enough already?
I'd have preferred some of the younger guns to have stepped up so he had no chance but they've let themselves down.

He's had several chances though that's the thing. Does he really deserve another chance? He's 34 now as well so will only really have another few years left, I also feel his return would be more of a hindrance if anything and will have an effect on other players.

He probably could make a comeback, but don't expect too much from him, Amir has looked a shadow of his former self since he came back, and sif is older and will probably be harder for him to come back to test cricket

Despicable cheats like that should not be anywhere near the international arena
