Ironically, thinking of Burnley, I had a fiver on a red card at 5/1

We have Coquelin, Ramsey, Cazorla, Elneny, Xhaka and Wilshere. Really we should loan one of them out.

It was a loose challenge but never a red. Think the ref has been influenced by his reputation

As for the guys moaning about the ref he saved you 2 points as Kos was offside when booted for the pen

Aye, but he put us in that situation by not awarding the very obvious penalty for the foul on Mustafi...

Personally think it was a red all day long. Bad pass, awful tackle.

But it is his first season, it does take time to settle.

And Vieira was still getting sent off for idiot moments into his mid to late 20s....

What we've said we want is consistency. We should have had a penalty for the foul on Mustafi earlier on. we should also have had free kicks and Burnley yellow cards at least for the elbows on Mustafi. If Arsenal players did that I would expect them to get a red every time. It needs to happen both ways. Not even a yellow and I think the second one might have broken his nose.

And Xhaka did go in off his feet, but did not cathc the player with his studs. His feet were back on the ground and he had pulled his feet back. A toe may have nicked the player but it was his shins that went through the player. That should be a yellow imo. Or at least it normally is when other teams do it to Arsenal. In fact I have seen far worse challenges than that against our players only get a yellow. I will however add this caveat, when I see it again on MOTD 2 I'll let you know if seeing it again changes my mind. I will specifically be looking for what Xhaka caught him with.

He did catch him with the foot more than I thought. The only argument against it being a red is Burnley had at least 2 or 3 worse challenges that werent given as reds.

Another thought, we now have 4 games without Xhaka. I will be watching to see how we play without him. I am expecting us to dominate games more in midfield without him. That is as the saying goes, the proof of the pudding.

Which part of the sword is he?
