Looking forward to this and whilst I will not making the trip up north, to the 5000 doing so.
This is the kind of game where we need to show that we are serious. I liked what we did to Ipswich and if we score first, then we can assert ourselves more ruthlessly. No reason whatsoever to shy away from this one.
Also can I take the opportunity to single out those who keep these match threads going especially our resident crofter, our PoTY, the one in the southern swamps, the one who hasn't seen daylight for 4 months, the risqué one from Catolonia and Watters and Scouse and others.....sorry Igor, who is the only one who reads this post
Newcastle seem to be having a dip and are sort of getting nervous. The expectation is great up there ('self-delusion') and we could, maybe make it painful for them. And Benitez, he's doing ok and was mightily impressed that he continued with Newcastle in the Championship. Did you know that 13.5% oNewcastle's shots have resulted in goals?
Derby have Stevie returning for the first time since he was sacked. Will Hughes is still unavailable, so it seems Butters will fill the void. Or not David Nugent may also be fit. And Derby have not conceded a goal against Newcastle in the last three out of five games.

What self delusion to know were above this crap league? League table doesn't lie and we will be going up come may not yous. No arrogance or self delusion just so much better than this journeyman clogger league.

....and yet not good enough to stay in the league above it, obviously.
Must be quite the conundrum

We've been away slightly fewer years than we managed points last time out
Just remember that, as you correctly pointed out, the league table DOESN'T lie, so to 'know' you're above this crap league must be a delusion because you aren't, you're in it, and not even at the top of it much less above it.

But we have knew from the moment a ball was kicked this season and that belief and confidence is what's going to see us get promoted. I don't see a self delusion in fans looking at the league and knowing that their team is better than it. Just an aside do you find that referees are dreadful in this league?

I worked in Newcastle for about two years in the late 80s/early 90s (when Keegan arrived), you lot are more delusional than ManU supporters and that's saying something.

What was delusional about that though people probably thinking or talking up a league challenge or winning it and we did or came within an inch. Nothing wrong with having a bit of belief and passion in your club. Saw a lot of derby fans saying they'd go up this eto soon that make your fan base delusional?

The refereeing in this league is garbage for sure, but believe me when I say you'll have benefitted from it more than it's cost you; the refs are either starstruck regulars at this level or are being punished for messing up a Premier League match and so are familiar with most of your players and give them preferential treatment. It's similar to when clubs get promoted to the PL though; the decisons definitely do NOT even out over a season, and even more frustratingly the media seem to have taken a vow of silence over crap reffing decisions that benefit the established clubs. Just have a look how many yards Shearer was offside against us at Pride Park once; it was at least 12!

I like a night out in Newcastle, Whitley bay on the other hand.......
