So I've just seen figures that FSG have spent £17m net per year on transfers since coming in.
Just a little bit of discussion.
On the face of it that seems paltry and that they're not serious.
I think there are two sides to this;
The club has been stabalised and you cannot help but feel it is being run better with money not being spent on wages that really shouldn't be too often.
We also have a new stand which is all very nice.
Flip side is league positions and trophies have been found hard to come by in the main although some fine lines in there. They rarely attend games either which from a fans point of view is a tad souless.
I've written a couple of times I can't help but feel FSG are fattening us up for sale and will make a ridiculous profit for not doing a great deal.
However there is nothing to say they won't make a big splurge in the transfer market if and when we qualify for CL football.
How do you feel about FSG? I'm aware that this would not be written were it not for the form in 2017.

You haven't had regular champions league money more or less all the way through their tenure. You've also had a small stadium in relation to your fanbase which they've started to improve on.
I think what you've spent is about par for the course.
I think some of you had unrealistic expectations.

Not to mention that they have taken no money from the club...
Im perfectly happy with FSGs ownership of the club, im sure that given time we will kick on

Don't disagree with this at all
The biggest things they've done for us are behind the scenes, we are a far far better outfit commercially now, have a much better stadium (seems to be forgotten when we have a bad run on the field) and have a world class manager who's biggest item on their CV isn't managing Liverpool.

Many good posts but regardless of the improvements of facilities, corporate, sponsorship money etc for me as a United fan the number 1 issue are the results and trophies won. There is not a 2nd issue anywhere close.
The owners of both clubs got an incredible deal and have drawn fantastic salaries for themselves and in the case of glazers their families. The glazers have spent big post fergie but they have no love of the club and it is just a cash cow milked annually, the better the success the fresher the milk.
Liverpool will be sold for a massive profit and you can only hope the next owner wants to follow the city or Chelsea model and be in for the long term without the need for balance sheet referrals.

Not sure I agree with that bertrand. I don't support Liverpool for the glory (probably best these days) and if you speak to older Utd fans they seem far more concerned with the philosophy and culture of Utd than the younger ones. You can see the younger fans on here getting really quite upset at Utd's malaise since Fergie left and yet either side of that manager they have been pretty average.
Furthermore having seen the club nearly go bust (and this was a genuine possibility) it's seems quite important to me that it doesn't as facetious as that sounds.

Off the pitch they have stabilised the club which is obviously a massive plus. They have increased revenue streams, decreased wages in relation to turnover and increased the capacity of Anfield.
On the pitch they have mostly far failed to deliver in my opinion. Winning a league cup with Kenny, with the 2nd place finish under Brendan obviously being the standout.
What has disappointed the most has been their recruitment policy. Bringing in sub standard players and penny pinching For example in the In" the letter to the fans window" we signed
Aspas, Alberto. Mignolet, Toure, Ilori, Sakho, Cissoko (loan) and Moses (loan), missing out on Willian, Diego Costa, Mkhitaryan, Salah, Konoplyanka.
It was a f'king debacle and was described as such by Rodgers.
When building on our second place finish we brought in Lambert, Lallana, Can, Markovic, Lovren, Origi, Moreno, Balotelli and Manquillo. Awful, considering we had the CL that season.
The club is now valued over 1 billion. Great for the owners and it's great to see us in a more secure position financially.
However, the team has pretty much stagnated over the period they have been with Liverpool which I find disappointing. They need to spend a bit more in my opinion to give us a better chance of being consistently competitive, which after 5 years they stated was one of their goals.
As has been said recruitment has been better under Klopp, but he still made them a profit in the transfer market. Arguably their best signing so far is our current manager (also Sturridge and Coutinho have been great), but to make us truly competitive they need to open the purse strings, having bought the club on the cheap and significantly increased it's value.

--------
And you get what you pay for. Since they took over Liverpool have finished;
7th 6th 8th 7th 2nd 6th & 8th
Bang average.
Just listening to TalkSPORT they are discussing Liverpool giving Adam Lallana £150,000 a week which would make him your =best paid player.
The idea that Adam Lallana is the pinnacle of your Club's ambition is hard to swallow I imagine. You're in for Aubameyang??? You really think he's going to go to Liverpool when he can pick any Club on the planet? For £150,000 a week? No chance.
I feel sorry for Klopp, he could do great things with Liverpool, but not with these owners; and take this in the spirit it's intended, not with those fans. Liverpool fans should be going ape, but you have become conditioned to accept also-ran status.

Out of interest, where do you think we should be finishing? Given there are 4 teams more wealthy than us in the league. Of those 4 teams, one has revenues of £200m more than us per year and another two are run as sporting enterprises as opposed to money making businesses.
It always surprises me that certain fans think we should be doing better given the financial picture. We have under achieved recently (e.g. 8th last year) but as fans I certainly don't feel we have any right to demand top 4 finishes. Not at this moment in time anyway.
And I don't think many Liverpool fans really expect PEA to be signed. Not necessarily for his wages but because I can't see our owners spending £60m (media quoted price) on a 28 year old. I think only a handful of clubs can pay that sort of money and accept that they'll have almost no resale value; we're not one of them.

That is exactly the kind of attitude I am talking about.

Ok, so where should we be then? What should we expect? In your opinion.
