Another big game away from home on Saturday. We tend to do well at Anfield but I thought the same about Everton.
Teams seemed to have worked pool out. Defend in numbers and then break on the counter. Will Wenger do that though? Highly doubt it.
If we play an expansive game we will get hammered. Players like Coq, Xhaka and Ramsey are too slow to deal with pools mf if it's an open game, especially at anfield.
Don't pay attention to pools form, they have turned up against the big teams and I expect our dismal form against the big boys away from home to continue.
Also, I think it's time to scrap the Sanchez up front idea. The link up play to him is not good enough and out wide men are not good enough technically or creatively. Also, he is becoming increasingly greedy in his play.
Giroud has a good record against pool (they are very suspect at set plays and corners) so I would start him with Sanchez and Walcott on the flanks.
Then I would have Coq, Ramsey and Ox in Mf (Ramsey playing 10 role). Yes Ramsey has been poor this season but I don't want Ozil starting in this game as it will be like playing with 10 men.
The question is, will Wenger change his tactics for the game or will it be same old same old!
What will be our approach on Sat?

I like SupermanTheo's line up except that I will drop Giroud and play a mid field three of Ox, Xhaka and Le Coq. Front interchangeable three of Lucas, Alexis and Welbeck
Let's burn Liverpool with pace!

Agree with that lineup, play 3 in midfield and the 3 forwards interchanging.
You know Wenger wont go for it though.

If Arsenal win it will be totally unexpected

We are a shambles without Santi in Mf. We have been absolutely battered recently at anfield but still managed to get a couple of draws.
We have the players to hurt them but we are shocking against teams that press us

It'll be the same old same old approach. They will press us and we will struggle but their defence is garbage so I fancy us to get something.

Battered? Erm no not really bar the 5-1, we generally play decently there.

I would play Maitland-Niles over Coquelin at the moment. He has been well below average this season. Its very important in a counter attack formation for the middle two to be solid.
And of course you cannot play anything but counter attack against high press. Were you to play Giroud, Liverpool will just push up and we will not get out of our own half. Watford and Bournemouth did it to us why wouldn't Liverpool?

------------OX--------Xhaka------------
-------------------Ozil------------------------
Lucas-----------Sanchez---------------Welbeck
Although he is not perfect and has his own limitations, Ox can play the Cazorla role to some extend.
with that front 3, Pool midfield will have to back up to help their defence which is worse than ours let's be honest.

There are a lot of Manager's out ther that have Wenger in their pockets, Klopp is one of them. I'm expecting them to react from their slump and give us a tough game.
