Right lads any of you out there boxed at a decent level?
If so what was your training regime before a fight?
And what was your diet?
Any boxers out there?

Someone has watched the boxing and decided they want to fight after a bit of adrenaline 😂

Most bricklayers and roofers are world class professional boxers. They just didn't get the chance. Saturday night provides a great opportunity to prove that you would have made it by fighting another like minded drunk outside the pub. All the best.

Tbh it was not about anyone actually fighting. It was to do with weight loss for a kid I know.
Thought a 6 week programme would help him.

Eat clean. Chicken, Tuna, rice, potatoes, greens, fruit, eggs, avocados, oats in the morning. Make the rest up with sups.
5 mile morning runs in under 45 minutes. Lots of calisthenics, explosive exercise at least 2 hours a day.
I did some yoga and swimming as well. Some weights, not too heavy though.

He said for a kid, not an adult. Kids need a proper diet to grow and develop properly and its not recommended to do weights too early as that can affect bone growth.
For a kid I would say look at whether they eat too many sweets, cakes, etc and get them active. One problem with kids these days is they want to sit on their ipads or whatever rather than being out being active.
And its now well documented that a lot of peoples size is down to genetics, particularly the body controlling the metabolism.
As an example I was always skinny until I gave up smoking and my metabolism changed. Im now a lot bigger although I train more (mainly running, weights and punchbag for upper body cardio). Although I cant run as far as I used to due to hip problems which doesnt help and Im only 45

Take him down the local gym and get him involved with some of the class's, doesn't even have to spar. Don't get him doing loads at first as he needs to build up to it (and it'll put him off)
If he does it right, you'll see a change over a couple of weeks and he'll build up properly, try and go all out straight away and the benefits will be a lot smaller.

A good seven hours since I got warmed up at the Black Lion but mentally been preparing since I was humiliated by my father about 26 years ago.
