History tells us they won't win it but David Silva is easily the Player of The Year so far and I can't think of anyone to rival Leroy Sane for Young Player of The Year.

Yep Pogba was the only one I thought of but didn't want to mention him!
I still think people are assuming Silva is playing as an attacking midfielder in a 4231, which is why they are saying there are plenty. He isn't though.

Cazorla is usually brilliant for Arsenal playing deep. He's been a big miss. They can no longer dominate games without him.

Ballon d'Or
2009 - Xavi was 3rd to Ronaldo and Messi.
2010 - Xavi finished 3rd to Iniesta and Messi
2011 - Xavi finished 3rd to Ronadlo and Messi
2012 - Iniesta finished 3rd to Ronaldo and Messi
Silva is in the Xavi and Iniesta bracket. Plenty of assists, doesn't score lots of goals - but they are recognised for their incredible contribution to the game of football.
Clearly Messi and Ronaldo couldn't be looked beyond during this time, but the 3rd highest goal scorer in Europe din't come 3rd each year.
Goals are one thing, but to watch a player of Silva's calibre grace the PL, should be enough for a nomination, as he's been consistently brilliant for most seasons.
Kante has a lot of votes on here and he's been excellent for Chelsea this season.
However, who would you pay to see, Kante or Silva?
Silva, most PL assists since he's been in the PL. The fellas a genius and I'm not just saying that as a City fan. Most pundits drool over his excellence.
Zlatan has done well, and out-done what most thought he would, but would you give it to a player who gets banned for elbowing??? He's been charged by the FA and will face a lay off now - 3/4 games.
But we all know Silva will never get voted. If Aguero can't win it, for all the goals he's scored - why bother thinking Silva would win it?

Yep. Thedifference with Cazorla was he was playing in a midfield two in that shape, he would have been even better if they played the shape we are now.

Silva is absolute quality.
Not going to get in to the subject article, but I do not think there are any better all-round attack-minded midfielders in the PL. He is (probably was now though) talented enough to play anywhere other than striker and in the back four.
A credit to the PL, blessed to have had him in his prime

You can't dismiss Ibrahimovic as POTY on the grounds of his misdemeanours (not that he'd deserve it anyway), and then moan about Aguero not winning it. Aguero hasn't exactly been whiter than white has he?

Kante is player of the year

The votes are already in despite the fact there are 11 more league games to go and the media are already saying it's Kante.
So I assume it will be.

Which award is it?
I do not hold the writers award in any esteem really. You only have to watch a game, then read their report of it to see what gibberish most of them spout.
The PFA one is where it is at. Voted for by people who have played against you
