Tyson Fury returns May 13!!!!!!!

The former unified heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has announced his return to the sport following a hiatus due to health reasons. Fury vacated his titles and is the only man to have defeated the former heavyweight king Wladamir Klitschko since 2004. Complaints have come in regarding the staleness of the current heavyweight scene but Fury's reintroduction should prove interesting. Where is he at physically and mentally? Can he still compete against the best? Will we finally see a big showdown between Fury and AJ? No opponent has been announced as of yet but get your popcorn ready people

Thoughts on Fury's return?

Can't stand him, was hoping we'd seen the last of him. But then, about half of the boxers out there aren't particularly likeable characters - I still don't understand why anyone would lavish any praise on the despicable human that is Mike Tyson.....but people like to turn a blind eye, because he was very good at hitting people.

Fury isn't all that exciting in the ring for me either, but you can't deny that he's box office, and brings something different. I can see him coming back, and getting back to a decent level. Maybe he'll get to the stage of fighting Wilder.....then a potential unification against AJ? Or is that unrealistic thinking?

If he stays clean and motivated, then a fight with AJ will definitely happen and it'll sell out Wembley comfortably too. Fury probably doesn't even need to fight and beat Wilder for that to happen. I can see Fury going after the Kiwi first.

Yeah I can see that, maybe a more likely route. I'm sure Hearn and any of the moneymen would love to work towards a Fury v Joshua fight. With belts on the line that would be a huge seller.

Personally I think Parker is being lined up as the sacrificial lamb for Wilder.

Then theoretically you could have a unification fight between Wilder and Klit/AJ. Both would have 2 belts each for equal billing and money.

Fury the person - Absolute balloon
Fury the boxer - Absolutely talented and hope he's back soon (although BBBofC have said he's still banned)

I don't think it is about rating him. It is about people still loving/supporting him despite his domestic abuse and rape convictions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair enough, however, if you look into the rape conviction, then it becomes clear that the 'victim' Miss Washington has form of having s ex then claiming rape the next day.

Many do not know this, but if you google it and youtube it, there is a wealth of evidence to suggest she has done this before and that the sentence was unsafe.

Her ex is on camera stating that the exact same accusation was made against him when he and Miss Washington had s ex (Way before she met Mike).

Miss Washington's new her father, who was a pastor would never forgive her if it came out that she had had s ex before marriage, her ex claims that soon after they had s ex, Miss Washington became worried about her father after her boyfriend wouldn't agree to keep their s.exual encounter to himself, then without warning, she went to the police and claimed she was raped by him.

Now before people jump on here claiming I am protecting a rapist, let it be clear, I would never condone anyone who rapes another person. However, I don't feel like Mike got a fair trial, if you look into it you will see how much of the testimony of key witnesses was kept back which would have helped Mike Tyson. he was also mis-respresented by his lawyer at the time. Even police officers have since gone on record stating that the trial was not a fair one and was corrupt.

No one knows the truth but I thought that you were innocent until proven guilty. Mike was found guilty but the vast evidence suggests it was not proven, without doubt anyway.

Most people bring his rape conviction up but when challenged most do not know about this evidence or refuse to look into it.

FBK - Mike Tyson is the reason I got into boxing. My uncle was a big fan and used to show me videos of his fights. He was an absolute force of nature.

I've heard (and read) about the court case but it should also be said that Tyson himself treated it as a joke throughout.

Even if you believe the court case was not proven (personally I don't think it's that simple) then there's wife beating (not contested as far as I'm aware), drug taking during fights, punching fans that asked for autographs, street fights and biting off bits of peoples ear.

Tyson used to be a hero of mine when I was a lad. He's certainly not any more. Whether you put his flaws down to character, upbringing or mental issues; he's not a pleasant person IMO.
