Having spat my dummy out earlier I have had time to reflect on possible ways of sorting this mess out.
In my opinion, Nugent & Beckford playing together will make a big difference. That said, will Sven think the same?
Maybe Mills is looking shaky because Sol "bomb scare" Bamba isn't exactly reliable. Yes he's a big presence on the pitch but he does seem unsteady at times. Anyway, here's the team I would play when everyone is fit...
Schmeichel
Pantsil - Mills - St Ledger - Konchesky
Fernandes - Wellens - Danns - King
Nugent - Beckford
Anyone else got suggestions?
Possible solution

Not bad spoon, but I would do this:
Schmeichel
Peltier/Pantsil
Mills
TUNCHEV
Konchesky
Fernandes
Wellens
King
Danns
Nugent
Beckford
We do have the potential to try 4-3-3 again wen Nugent is fit. Wellens and Fernandes holding. King in front. Vassell and Nugent wide to Beckford down the middle.
As I've said before, Beckford ant be left isolated so needs the 2 wide players pushing up alongside. If they don't, it won't work.

Good call Merseyside, I'd forgotten about Tunch but is he Sven's type of player? Not so sure.

Both very good shouts. And bamba is a likely weak link putting too much pressure on the defence.
Too early to panic yet , but lcfc are spoiling too many of my weekends at present.

Keep the players, change the Manager!

Honestly, ANYONE who thinks St Ledger is the answer to our defensive issues...has a whole set of issues themselves. He looks shocking.

This. We don't have one consistent, solid centre back. Defence is very poor, we have good players in other areas but Sven was an idiot for not buying a winger, we are in serious need of one.
The worst thing is that we do have some decent footballers but they are mostly underperforming. We are playing some shocking football.

I think i would go with a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-4-2. If it was the former becks up front with nugent - king- vassell with Fernandes and probably wellens/danns/johson along side him.
I think I would give Tunch a try out with mills at the back.
Stating the obivous but first things first is to get the defence sorted out and get soem confidence that we are a team that is hard to beat, once that happens I believe we have enough players to create and score goals ( like we did last year)
