Posh V Oxford

Payback time against the Dreaming Spireites.

Oxford are close behind us. Hopefully, though, the threat of being shown the door at the end of this season, will spur our players on to a win.

Goal-scoring has not been our strength this season. Can I enjoy a hatful, please, on Saturday!

Looking forward to this afternoon's contest between what should be two evenly matched teams.

Oxford's manager is on a play-off push, whilst Posh's manager is looking at who'll be staying at the club next season.

Two differing types of pressure on their players.

Which type of pressure will prove the most burdensome: which team will win? Interesting!

The Spireites are Chesterfield Thorney? You are playing Oxford today??

Oxford is known as City of Dreaming Spires, hence my reference to Dreaming Spireites.

As for the game, it was Oxford that were feeling the pressure until the 23rd minute and their first goal, and then we crumbled. Still, at least Craig Mackail-Smith scored a fine 100th goal for the club.

Having watched today's game, I think that the only players guaranteed a place for next season thus far are man-of-the-match (out of both sides) Paul Taylor, Michael Bostwick, Ryan Tafazolli and (just about!) Chris Forrester. Marcus Maddison (much needed!) wasn't playing - I'd guarantee him a starting place regardless.

sadly it's all over now for this season TP.
Back to crowds of four thousand or less, and I understand some very unhappy season ticket holders.
What happened to to eight thousand or so fans who went to Stamford Bridge.?
Sad business all round for the real fans.
Seville on Tuesday, then who knows?

Of the 6K that went to Stamford Bridge, TF, 1,500 only go to FA Cup ties against Prem teams.

Was at your match on Saturday ThorneyPosh, I sat in the new motorpoint stand. I do like Paul Taylor, always have rated him particularly in the matches a few years ago against the Foxes. Was dissapointed with the lack of home support from the London Rd home terracing. Player that stood out for me was the Oxford centre half Cheyenne Dunkley? He looked a class act and was a rock for Oxford.

So your fan base is 1500 then TF,worse than I thought,
We have lot more than that on season ticket waiting list.
