Many Kodi streams will be blocked from the 18th of March. As expected the ISP's are behind this, considering their vested interest.
There will likely be an influx of people purchasing VPN's as without one, Kodi will become an even more frustrating experience for its users than it is already.

Where does that leave those who paid for the subscription to watch football then? Are Kodo likely to be inundated with requests for refunds?

Corrext me if im wrong but you do not buy the subscription directly from Kodi, which is just the viewing platform. I would imagine the people selling these subscriptions will be!

I don't know how it works tbh. I assumed the subscription was bought from Kodi directly. I never knew it was from a 3rd party.

A vpn basically routes your traffic(encrypted) through another country. Say for those interested in freedom and privacy... Amsterdam.
Amsterdam basically becomes like another ISP, so as far as UK isps are concerned you only visit one specific IP address and they have no idea or ability to block you.

Obviously piracy is abhorrent as are streaming services that are illegal in your area... but for those privacy oriented.
Ipvanish - whom Admin2 uses
Cactus Vpn - whom I use
Also run a dns leak test.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I use Ipvanish also but not for Kodi, just for downloading torrents and when I need an IP for another country. It will be the ISP doing the blocking so DNS won't come into it as far as I know as they'll simply block the IP's using their service from accessing the servers hosting the streams.

You really also need to ensure your dns isn't leaking.

I have nothing to hide. I simply what to trick a website to let me on. Like NBC for example. I set my clock to Eastern and turn on the VPN and I can watch all PL games. I never liked the unreliability of Kodi and it's only going to get worse from the 18th. If I had a bulging bank account I won't be more secure but I don't have to worry about that unfortunately.

It's the dns logging the snoopers charter is pushing towards. So if you are dns leaking and using ISP dns lookups then potentially you could fall foul if the logs are used in the future.

I just can't see them go after the end user. I suspect it will be a simple automatic ban on your IP accessing the servers they put on the list, like they're doing with the torrent sites. I'll bear that in mind if things change though.
