Forest V Derby County Match Thread

We find ourselves [and our near neighbours] in a strange and difficult to predict situation leading up to Saturday's game. Both clubs have changed their manager before the game, in stead of waiting for a defeat as a trigger for the axe to fall.

In Forest's case the writing was on the wall after the manor of our defeat to Brentford, a decidedly hot and cold mid table team. The obvious team selection after the Brighton game surely picked itself, apart from those players returning from long term injury. A upset against Burton was alway's on the cards depending on a little luck on the day.

Hopefully Gary and Jack are going to return and carry on their excellent work at the N.D Academy.

What to say about our near neighbours? they start to bottle it earlier and earlier every year? the players are in charge of the dressing room? Mel Morris is different but certainly as equally a poor owner as Al-Hasawi?

All conjecture, however what we can clearly state as fact's is Derby's collapse in form after a mid season, mini turn around under Schetve.

Forest's form is dire over the last 10 games, however Derby's is worse as they have taken one less point than ourselves. The other team with relegation credentials over the last ten games is, quite funnily Birmingham City!

The form book goes out of the window in these hotly contested Derby games. How much influence, apart from selecting the starting eleven can either manager exert after only four day's?

Warburton is handicapped by a lack of first choice defenders and too many strikers. A positive will be the group of home grown footballers available in the squad. He needs to start gathering points and stop losing.

Rowet is presented with a dressing room who know that they can get a manager sacked when things don't suit them. A group of expensively assembled footballers who don't deliver.

Saturday will be a uniquely challenging fixture, not just for the teams and the fans, but for the reputations of the two managers.

Hopefully the Footballing Gods will smile benignly down upon the home of East Midlands football on Saturday lunch time and send the sheep home empty handed and with no points.
