A squad built over 4 years.

This is the 4th season since the "new money" came in, the stadium mortgage repayments became less of a burden and the need to sell players disappeared.
4 years where our net spend is only behind Manchester United and Manchester City.
4 years of stability and what should be squad improvement.

Yet we are performing worse than ever.

The midfield doesn't function without Cazorla, whoever happens to be playing.
The defence has no organisation.
The attack can often look clueless.

Some of the players aren't good enough, but the bigger issue is the lack of coaching and organisation.
Tony Adams said a couple of years ago that Hector Bellerin had reached his peak because he simply will not be coached to improve defensively. That could change, but under Mr Wenger those words look true. It is something that will also affect Mustafi, Holding etc.
Players like Xhaka, signed for big money, look way out of their depth in the PL - but again is this unfair on the player who is dropped into the team without any real defensive organisation?

This isn't a squad in transition. This isn't a squad that has suffered from big name departures. This isn't a squad that hasn't had money spent on it.

My opinion was that Mr Wenger should have left when the increased transfer funds became available. I understood those who said he deserved the chance to spend after steering us through the belt tightening years, but for me it was the perfect time for a new manager with new ideas and a new source of player contacts to come in.

Now the task for the next manager has become far bigger than it was 4 years ago. On top of players wanting to leave, you also have the likes of Cech and Monreal who desperately need improving on, the need for a whole midfield, the need for a striker.

I will always defend Mr Wenger, to an extent, for the years after the stadium move, but the last 4 years has been an expensive disaster that leaves us behind where we were when we had financial restrictions.

Mauricechavez isn't a Man Utd fan. He is obsessed with Arsenal, absolutely no interest in United at all.
Hence why he was spending time commenting on this thread during a United game...

probably a spurs, celtic or wolves fan then. He must be motivated by something

Faux outrage now? Why didn't you mention this in your previous replies to the statement?
