It has been a long winter but F1 is back with a bang baby with new rules and sexy looking cars that look like beasts from a bygone era.

So with a new season upon us, everyone suspects a shake up on the grid and a loss of power of the all conquering Silver Arrows. FP1 and FP2 show however, that is easier said than done.
All the race details can be accessed from formula1.com so I am not going to bother sharing lap times and all that because they will all be obliterated this season.

That Honda engine looks awful. Hulkenberg overshoots turn 1, out of momentum, but Alonso, with a smoother exit is actually further away by turn 3.

Ferrari look dangerous this year, I think they'll give Mercedes a real run for their money.

Ferrari got it right/ Hamilton struggled more with his tyres.
An ok race. Less dominance from Mercedes. Would have been nice to have seen more overtaking but maybe Melbourne isn't the best place for that. China will surely have more.
A promising start to the season.

Weird decision to pit Hamilton losing track position falling behind Verstappen, lap times were still good prior to pit.
Chances are goes onto to win without that screw up.

Running in clean air at the front.
Vettels tyres would have degraded faster in dirt, as stint went on.
