Better value than a Wonga loan

Just for fun fellow funsters.....

Who would you rate as our best ever loanee?

For me Jesse Lingard.......was not.

Im currently writing a letter to Chris that we welcome him back with open arms and he feels the need to rid his guilt he should donate some of his Fulham wages ie the warm up, £100 to Sparts charity, generous I know..

Think off the problems I'll have sending €50

Drop Martin

Double or quits on a Wassa heart failure, Spart?

Nigel Callaghan - got him back on loan in the disastrous 90/91 season and briefly rose to the heady heights of 14th.
Went back to Villa when Maxwell refused to sanction a permanent and we went about 20-25 games without another win.

He wasn't brilliant in absolute terms, but I always thought Shefki Kuqi was a good loanee, he added something to the team that was not there previously and otherwise would not have been, which is surely the point of loans.

Anyway, he's Chris Martin v1.0 and highlighted the potential for a player of that ilk to unlock the latent potential in that team that NC was slowly assembling

As for worst, too much choice. Giles Sunu was rubbish, Nacer Barazite was horribly overrated, Omar Mascarell was a lemon, the list goes on...

Our best loan by far was the one the three amigos took out which landed them in prison, otherwise I don't know how we could have got shut of them.

Jack Butland or Jordan Ibe.

Paul McGrath was a brilliant player and an inspired signing but not a loan. We signed him on a short term contract and he didn't go back to villa at the end of that contract as they had released him.
The list of poor loans would be mind boggling

So Paul McGrath is one of your greatest loans, let's see what Wikipedia says about his time with you...

"After winning another League Cup, McGrath departed Aston Villa in 1996, leaving a legacy as one of the greatest players in the club's history. He is immortalized most match days, when supporters sing the 'Paul McGrath, my Lord' terrace chant to the tune of "Kumbaya". Subsequently, he retired from the game at almost 39, after very brief spells with Derby County and Sheffield United:"

Yep true Derby legend in the same way Ian Wright, Andrew Cole and Neil Lennon are true Forest legends 🤔

I've never heard Villa fans chant anything other than a passionless, squeaky outburst of 'Villa, Villa' once every 40mins.
