Depth of squad

With the persistent rumours of Nasri, Young, De Gea, Jones and Varane possibly joining united this summer I believe that next seasons squad could be one of the strongest squads in a long time. I know we have lost Scholesy and VDS, but i believe there is real depth and quality in the squad with a great variation of young exciting players with a mix of older experienced players even if we lose Brown, Gibson and John O'Shea.

De Gea, Lindergaard, Amos

Rafael, Vidic, Jones, Smalling, Evans, Evra, Fabio, Ferdinand

Anderson, Valencia, Giggs, Park, Carrick, Nani, Cleverly, Fletcher, Nasri, Varane, Young

Owen, Berbatov, Macheda, Welbeck, Rooney, Hernandez

Transfers permitting, it's looking pretty promising, possibly two low key utility players to replace the likes of John O'Shea/Hargreaves, although there could be a gem in the youth system to take a gamble on...

Thoughts???

I like the look of that squad, i just hope O'Shea stays, to sure up the Full Back positions.

Exactly, you aint mentioned players like Morrison, Tunnicliffe or Pogba, all developing really well, good times to be a Utd fan!!

Varane is more a CB who can play CDM, but like Jones

We wont be signign Varane though, cant see it now.

Apparantly we are still in for Chamberlain though, but Arsenal are too and he apparatnyl fancies them more. Maybe we could say to Wenger, we'll ease off ourr pursuit for Chamberlain, if you sell us Nasri

I say O'Shea to stay

But I agree with the OP, the newbies will be excellent additions to our squad, and I am alsl excited already

Yeah, I agree that O'Shea should stay, no harm in him staying seeing as he can play literally anywhere on the pitch. Defence is going to look pretty strong with the addition of Jones. Where do you think Nasri would play if the transfer goes ahead?

I'd say he would be given a central role it is his natural/preferred position and we look like signing Young

@Jonnybgoode

Suppose he would play there, fill the void left my scholes. Thing is, i see Fergie playing Anderson as first choice next season, and with Nani and Valencia being the two top wingers in the club, surely young has to be 3rd choice?
