I'm not Elneny's biggest fan, but his partnership with Xhaka is our best midfield combo (without Cazorla).
Elneny is disciplined, and tracks runners. He's not much cop going forward but neither are Ramsey or Coquelin of late.
No denying it gives us the best balance in midfield. I'm not saying it's perfect before the regulars come on and moan.
Xhaka and Elneny from now on please

Should be playing a midfield 3
Xhaka
Elneny Ramsey
Theo Alexis Ozil
Been saying that all season since Cazorla got injured and the only time we have done it was the 1st 10 mins at Stamford Bridge

Not sure those 3 players have the intelligence for that set up. In the way that none of them would have a defined role, could imagine them over or under committing a lot and I doubt the management would help with the situation.
Not a bad idea on paper though, the players would have the right raw ingredients it's just I can't see it working too well in practice without a lot of tactical training.

Wenger won't change the bloody system, it's been obvious for a while we should play a mf 3

I would prefer a midfield 3 as well. We leave so much space of the opposition at times and team running past us.

I think we need to either have Ozil or Ramsey on the Right/Left wing. We played quite good and were pretty solid with Ramsey on the right last season before he go injured.

It seems the best we have at the moment. They both had great games. West Ham didn't really offer anything, however with the form we're in it was still an impressive turnaround. We controlled the midfield and won the ball back really well. Ozil showed up much more in the second half, which was needed, because with elneny and Xhaka, we need to rely heavily on him for creativity

Xhaka will never work in a midfield 2
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This. And he will never work against a team that doesnt sit back. Weat Ham made Xhaka look good.

I wonder why Wenger has been so slow in dropping Coquelin. I have to say Gabriel was also very good. Much better than Kos has been recently.

West Ham didn't sit back. They played a 3-4-3 and pressed high. The difference was Elneny was much better positioning than Coquelin.

Gabriel has looked quite solid in his last few appearances. Wouldn't say he's been better than kos though. He's had good games in the past, then ruins it with a run of sudden clumsy errors. With kos injury record and mert basically finished, we really could do with a top CB and a good back up in the summer.

Kos is a better player. But ever since the first Bayern game he has been quite poor. It maybe because he has been carrying that injury. Wenger has kept quiet about it but he has been very inconsistent and in fact been subbed quite a few times since then.
