Is that Sven has (seemingly) learnt nothing over what is effectively nearly a season in charge.
Can Leicester play 4-3-3 ? No.
Can you play Bamba alongside Mills ? No
Why buy a quality (Irish international) centre-back and not even have him on the bench ? Numpty.
The simple fact remains that some of the real promotion contenders are already building quite a lead over a team that has shown few (if any) signs of improvement since the beginning of this season and in my opinion, most of last season.
Calls for Sven's head are premature but unless he is prepared to change his approach, the volume will increase with each inadequate performance.
Alan Young made a very interesting comment yesterday. Whilst it is unfair to pick on individuals, he did question why Leicester defended so badly with a former centre-half as our Asst Manager. And why have we got a former keeper as first team coach?
Sven can do better but his starting position must be to accept a 4-4-2 formation best suits the Championship (go and get a quality wide-man on loan) and play SSL alongside Mills. And get some new blood in your training department.
I believe we will beat Brighton next week but this will deflect from the real problems.
Mid-table obscurity is not an option this year. Either be prepared to change or prepare your exit strategy !
My biggest concern.

I think we've struggled ever since Powell left. I think he had a big influence on the team.
What concerns me, is that Sven has brought in 12 players, yet we still don't appear to have the necessary personell to play how he wants us to. Now, that is either bad luck in the transfer market, or bad management.
Sven should know how he mainly wants to play and recruit accordingly. We now seem to be switching our formation on a half by half basis to try and work out what is best!!!!
I hope Sven gets it right and he should be given the full season irrespective of results to give this a go.
I have to admit though, I'm starting to worry!

I have just watched the Football League show on catch-up and Paul Jewell confessed he doesn't know his best 11 yet.
Sounds rather familiar although not quite as bad for us - yet!

After the match yesterday, for the first time, I was actually worried that any problems may not just iron themselves out.
However, I'm not sure it's as bad as some are making out.
Can Leicester play 4-3-3 ? - Well I think since Sven has come in, it's clear we can play 4-3-3 and win games and play well. Whether it's our optimum set-up and one to play on a regular basis at home and away is a different matter though.
Can you play Bamba alongside Mills ? I don't think this about two good players (i.e. Lampard/Gerrard debate of the past past few years) not being able to play together. I just don't think Bamba is good enough. He plays outstanding every now and then, but is often poor and I do not think he has a defender's brain. Awful marking on their goal.
Why buy a quality (Irish international) centre-back and not even have him on the bench ? To be honest, with only 5 on the bench, I don't really mind not having a CB there as long as another player ont he pitch can fill in if needs be. He would have definitely been on there if the new sub rule hadn't come in.
Yes our performaces have been inconsistent at best, but the reason we are not nearer to the top 6 is based on two woeful results at home.
After the Bristol game, we demanded an improvement. Yes, in performances and results, but surely the latter was the priority in the first instance?
Since that Wednesday evening we have:
League (away) - Drew
Cup (away) - Won
League (home) - Won
League (away) - Drew
Yes, results on paper may mask some poor team and individual performances, but the fact is, during a period of instability in formation/personnel, since those back to back defeats in a week, we have produced consistency (at least from a results perspective) that will see us climb the table (including a point at the City Ground which we hardly ever do, and a win against the inform team over the first month of the season).
I honestly think if you had asked most fans what would have been acceptable or positive from the next three league games after the Bristol match, most would have said 5 points.

Just to add, over the last three games, as far as I can work out, there are only a handful of teams or less who have better results than us, or haven't lost. We aren't the only one's still finding their feet.

All calm good sense in this thread (so far), thank goodness, a nice change from the hysteria and panic on others launched after yesterday's (disappointing but hardly catastrophic) result.
Hard in particular to have patience with those already calling for Sven's head. He has spent a considerable sum on some good players, and we now need to let him - as a widely experienced and successful manager, here and abroad - get them playing as he wishes.

Some people do like to over-react don't they.
OK, we drew one game yesterday that, on paper, we should have won but it isn't the end of the world and we can bounce back. Some people are talking like we lost 6-0. Teams have bad games. It's a fact of football. We aren't going to steamroller every opposition we play.
I was confused when Sven went for the 4-3-3 and the only reason I can think that he did that was that, being an away game, he wanted to set-up with a more conservative formation. Obviously it didn't work and we played better when we changed the formation. It's now obvious to all and sundry that we play better in the diamond and there is no way we won't play that against Brighton. The defence had a poor game (Pantsil especially) but they're too good as players to play that badly twice and you have to hope a hell of a lot more work will go into the defence in training.
Attacking wise, I think Beckford was isolated in the first half and when he worked himself into space, there was nobody within 20 yards of him but in the 2nd half it did improve and we played better football and it was a more even game. Also Beckford played a lot better when he had people around him. We forced them to go longer up to Gray and the boy had the better of Mills in the air and that was surprising given I think Matt's best attribute is his heading. I think Peltier and St Ledger should come in for the next game for Pantsil and Bamba and those two definitely have a point to prove and they'll know they have to play well and take their chance. This is when a large squad can really help the team respond after lackluster performances.
I think that if we get within touching distance of the top two come the turn of the year, then I think in the 2nd half of the season we can kick on and our strength in depth will help as will the fact the players will have spent 4 solid months playing football together which has to help. Norwich did much the same thing last season when they built up their momentum through December-Jan time and come March-April they were unstoppable. Manchester United have done this for years. Pick up points in 3rd gear at the start and work your way up the gears as the season progress' and build up momentum as well. The two top teams have that good momentum from last season are doing well and the test for them will come when they start to loose games and whether they can get back to the level they were. The league is never won in September and there is no reason why we cannot get promoted this season. Yes we need to improve but the players, the manager, the coaches will all know that and will know they have to work. The players came here to play in the PL and the only way they will do that is by knuckling down and playing well.
There is room for improvement but I would rather get these performances out of the way now (whilst continuing to pick up points) than have them in the crunch period of March-April and now we can kick on from this disappointment, learn the lessons and come out on the other side better for it. I still think the pot's simmering with us. We're playing in fits and starts at the moment and I can just see there being one game where everything clicks and we put 5 past somebody and then the confidence starts to flow, the players get more comfortable, the pressure lifts and the momentum starts to come.
What is it they say; picking up points when you're not playing well is the sign of a good team?

I admire your faith KTF and Greatness and confess that I can be a bit "glass half full". However, I am surprised you don't share my concern when have played five of the bottom nine teams and have only managed five points from those matches. This is not promotion material.
KTF, you say that most teams are inconsistent at the moment. Certainly that is always an issue in the Championship but it is not really the case with some of the key contenders. West Ham, Boro and Brighton (who I tipped as contenders before the season started) have all had four wins and a draw from their last five games.
Again, you say that Leicester can play 4-3-3 under Sven but where is your evidence ? Every half game we have tried it this season we have been second best. But when we play 4-4-2 we have caused most teams problems.
Many also point to our goal for column last season but omit to look further across the table at our goals against tally.
Take one step back and look at what actually happened last year. Yes Sven saved us from relegation but we went on a run against poorer teams and came up short against the better sides. As I recall, 4-3-3 got us to tenth last season and as many neutrals pointed out, we under-performed in the latter part of the season when measured by the personnel we had in place.
So I am not after Sven's head but I genuinely believe that it is time he woke up and smelt the coffee !

I could not get over how laid back Sven is. After the game on Saturday he just said "WELL" we got a point we came from behind to get 1 point. Not good enough. We should have 3 Points. Wake up Sven I don't think he listens to the fans. 433
