Rising: Rebuilding Ground Zero

The opening ceremony is something I'd love to see it's fantastic how much thought and meaning has been put into every aspect of the rebuild

10 years on still a surreal thing to watch it all again. respect to the city and people of nyc

Appreciate all that, and without taking anything away from the resiliance and pride of New Yorkers and the brave emergency services, our own country showed similar fighting spirit during the blitzing and firebombing of the last war, and the attacks of the recent terrorist bombings in London, and also the regular, ongoing attacks by paramilitaries which continued over more than a decade. Thousands of innocent lives also lost.
Human beings always rise to great heights when necessary, to
offset the great lows they can also sink to.

I would think, probably, that the point being made by BhoyMurney is that stoicism is not the sole province of the Americans, and that terrorism and war on their own doorstep is a new thing to them, whereas on this side of the Atlantic, the people terrorised, invaded and warred upon have generations of experience to draw from.
