Vardy Targetted?

I didn't realise that both Vardy and Huth are only one booking away from missing the second leg next week.

Both are crucial to us having any small chance of progressing and if they can't play their natural game it will hinder us.

It does concern me that Vardy especially will be targeted by Atletico and might just either lose his control or the ref get conned by a bit of play acting.

It would be a shame if this is allowed to happen, we need the ref to be strong.

Only to echo Merseyside really - If we're going to have any chance of winning the tie over two legs then they're going to need to keep their heads tonight. Vardy in particular, as a yellow card for a defender is sometimes inevitable.

The amount of times Vardy has conned officials, I doubt he could have any arguments if it went against him tonight.

He's been on the end of harsh bookings too that have resulted in red cards. He's hardly had a penalty that's not been legit either but he has been booked and sent off for making perfectly good tackles.

He won the ball at Stoke and connected with the players ankle with his other leg on the ground so not two footed either.

He got booked for a good tackle against West Ham and then the alleged dive which wasn't a booking. I don't think it was a penalty but there was contact even though played for so it wasn't a dive. It should have just been get up and get on with it not get off.

I can't agree with you on much of that, CofE. In particular, that second yellow card against West Ham was about the only decision Jon Moss got right in the whole match.

You can't agree that he won the ball in the first tackle he made in that game that got him his first yellow?

Did you not see the two blatant dives by Arsenal players, who had nobody anywhere near them and still went down like Olympic divers and that it was Moss officiating in his very next game? If it was a booking for Vardy then it 100% not even debatable, was for the two Arsenal players.

Did you not also see that he won the ball and by the time he connected with the player one foot was in the ground and the other followed through and connected with his ankle?

If you disagree maybe go back and watch them again.

If your interpretation of Vardy's "dive" warranted a yellow card then ok. I personally don't because there was contact. I just don't think it was a penalty.

The first yellow card shouldn't have been, but there was an incident before that should. And I'm not trying to claim that Jon Moss is either competent or consistent here. But he dived and got sent off for it against West Ham; I saw it live and tons of times from all sorts of angles afterwards and nothing has made me change my mind.

Regarding Stoke, it falls under "I've seen them given", and the FA decided not to overturn the decision either. That one probably should have been a yellow but wasn't 100% not a red. It's the kind of grey area that technology is never going to clear up.

We see that incident differently but that's ok, I guess neither of us or right or wrong because it comes down to interpretation, which is where a lot of inconsistency arises.

I think he's been harshly treated at times but the way he plays its going to happen.

Dunge the Vardy incident with Moss, is totally unclear, there was contact Vardy made a lot of it, but from every angle it is inconclusive.
The was with keeper, and ref should have warned Vardy.

By the way, does anyone know if there's any yellow card/suspension amnesty at some point? Or are Vardy and Huth on a knife-edge all the way to the final?
