Another three points and a clean sheet

Well done Town on another three points and a clean sheet! Yes, the match was not the best, but the result stands.

For those who doubt Gary Roberts, why? He has scored yet again and is arguably one of the best players we have. He may not always give us one hundred percent in some games, but when he does, he is excellent! Carry on Gary!

I usually like to post after a match, weather good, bad, or plain ugly. At the moment, we are not good, but not bad and certainly not ugly!

Come on Town!

You could make a stand that will make no difference to anyone, or you could turn up and support the lads, show we are club worth playing for and have to support to become an established Championship club and even set the example in that division for reasonable prices.

A missing 1000 away support will prove nothing other than Town fans don't care that much and the extra £5 on a ticket (which is less than the saving on petrol for the average away fixture) is enough of an excuse not to bother.

If 1,000 boycott then depending on the mix of categories it is about £25k that Sheffield United will have lost.

The 'extra' fiver on the tickets that they do sell (say 2,000 although indications are it will be less than that) will give them back £10k.

They'll notice that extra £15k!

It also proves Town fans have principles and fans in general aren't going to taken for granted. I think the Town players will realise that and not think the fans don't care about a 'derby' match.

they wont miss anything they wouldnt normally have. they will only be used to a max 500 away fans at 90% of home games. u dont miss what uve never had.

advice..

when you get there dont spend a bean in the ground..dont buy food or drink or buy a programme.. be honest that would be the difference in the ticket prices and then some..

go on the coach, dont use the ground car parks etc etc..

boycotting the game itself to save a fiver isnt the only action you can take..

the travel to mk and brentford, bournemouth and the like is going to cost considerably more than the extra ticket cost at bramall lane.. principles are all well and good but i suggest a lot of people now standing on the "high moral ground" might not be going to the above grounds for cost reasons...

its not towns fault that sheff utd are skint and its not towns fault that football clubs are so far away from us in distance terms..

sheff utd wont be expecting many from yeovil, bournemouth, walsall etc etc and to "lose" a few grand against us wont make much difference to the dire situation they are in... they are , i believe, working on the principle of promotion or bust the same as peterborough last season a few hundred stay away town fans wont make them change their approach..

Once upon a time , before the greed fairy decended into Football boardrooms, both clubs used to share the gate. It was only the Big Prem clubs who wanted to keep all there own receipts, and that has filtered down the leagues. For Town it probably works out better, so I guess it would be hypocritical of me to complain...As such clubs will maximise their pricing in according with the rules, why not ? When Sheff Utd come here we can only charge them what we charge our own fans for equivalent seats...the get-out clause is having a membership scheme, at about £10 pa, then you get in for £2 less, which is what Sheff Utd do.

Town are always going to be a category A game this season becasue we are a top club in this league with a big away following...Would have prefered this game later in the season and on a saturday.
