The squad is not "trash" in my view; there's lots of quality. But we do have big names off form (Pogba, Martial) and still lack a cohesive system or genuine style of play.

There isn't lots of quality though, is there.

Players of genuine quality in the squad currently. Miki. Zlat. Herrera ddg. Mata.

Some others with potential

Rest - nah. Lacking in all areas

Pogbas been a huge waste of money.

Who's lacking in all areas? We have a very good squad, pogba has been crap, but that's what you get if you massivley overpay for a player on marketing rather than football reasons, but he's still a good player along with the rest of the squad- which is as good as any other in the prem.

Some are underperforming, true, but that's up to the manager to improve that.

So far he has, yes. But for a few years before that he was one of the best midfielders in Europe. If we'd come up against Juventus in Europe, almost every poster on here would have been saying we didn't have a midfield that could handle Pogba. Now we've got Pogba and he's suddenly average? He needs to improve massively, that's beyond doubt, and we need to fit him in better than we are. But he is still "quality".

We also have Bailly, Rashford, Shaw and Martial, all relatively young with great potential.

Are you talking about the pogba who had world class midfield partners at juve who made him look good? The pogba who was awful in the European championships, without those players?

Sorry but what you have just written has no correlation to why he's been crap. Yes we over paid but that doesn't excuse his poor form.

He was good in Italy, so was veron.

It appears he needs time and space on the ball that he will never be afforded in the prem.

He didn't have a good tournament in summer. So what? We've seen great players have poor international tournaments before. Kane and Alli were woeful at the Euros.

And I don't remember too many people saying Pogba was being carried at Juventus. He was just in a system that worked.

Shaw I don't think has loads of potential, but Jose sees something.

Rashford looks like he can't finish his dinner this season. This wouldn't matter as much if he was third or fourth choice but he's our second choice striker. He's struggled and we've struggled for goals


But that's neither here nor there.

The likes of fellaini, lingard, jones, smalling, young etc will never be good enough unless we want to stay in sixth and play Europa league for the foreseeable which I'm fairly certain some do.

He was however the lesser of the 3 midfielders in his time there most of the time he was at juve.

And as I say, doing it in Italy does not mean one can do it in England

Three of those players have already won titles with us.

I'm not saying I rate them all but you have to have squad players and they're just not going to be as good as your regulars.

They should be far better than the likes of those though.

Smalling and jones barely started games when we were winning titles. Now they do. Now we finish 6th. See the correlation.
