Unlike the 350 hardy souls who travelled through to Ayr, I chose, like most sensible folk would, to settle down in front of BBC Alba on Saturday evening and watch United's trip to Somerset Park and dear lord it was grim viewing. Some games can be described as turgid. This game was worse than that.
There's not much to say about it. We drew with one of the worst teams in the league but what it did do was confirm our place in the playoffs and move us joint second with Falkirk which is quite remarkable given how utterly dreadful we've been all season, and particularly given our horrendous away form.
The club have predictably been quick to advise that season tickets are not valid for the playoffs. Of course not. I am going to assume these tickets will be priced around £20 per home game and I can't say I'm particularly delighted at having to spend potentially (although unlikely) £60 to see this rotten team again on top of buying my season ticket for next year - although if we finish 4th I'll miss the first game anyway as I'm away.
Before that though we face a tough test against the resurgent Buddies on Saturday and I don't expect a win.

I spent yesterday impatiently checking for the match report from Saturday, and now this! Standards are slipping.

Apparently Nick van der Velden has left the club, he's signed for a team in Bali...

How can you not mention the heart-stopping thrill ride highlight of the match?

When a Blair Spittal shot broke someone's glasses in the crowd?
Apparently that did happen.

My father in law and my brother in law came to the match with me. They're both Killie fans so had high hopes of Utd horsing Ayr. I had to be quite apologetic at the end.

Nah, the five minutes of standing around waiting for a new referee as the previous one injured himself by getting in the way.
