Not really at all, just as who wins the PFA player of the year does not prove anything, or who makes FIFA team of the year.

Measuring a players ability on individual awards is pretty ridiculous. The best way to see that ability is to watch.

Well Messi and ronaldo have won the last 9 ballon d'ors. They just do happen to have been the 2 best players in the world for the last 9 yes therefore shows it does actually prove something.
If it was just a one off win I'd understand your point however winning it year in year out proves they are the best 2 in the world and ronaldo having won 3 of the last 4 shows recently he has been the best up until this season

Messi is the greatest ever with Ronaldo 2nd. Certainly in my time watching football.

The amount of goals those guys have scored without being out and out striker is simply incredible.

Messi is a much better passer and dribbler than Ronaldo whilst having similar scoring stats.

The like of Brazilian Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Zidane were all super talented and highly entertaining but not on the same level as Ronaldo or Messi

Ronaldinho in my opinion had more talent than both. If I had to pick which one I would pay top dollar to see, it would be him.

No doubt whatsoever Messi is more integral to a team than Ronaldo who is clearly in it for himself half the time.

Just look at a highlight reel of both players best goals, Messi demonstrates more than Ronaldo, simple as that.

Both are greats, Messi is the greatest

He was more entertaining no doubt but in terms of effectiveness and longevity he never came close to those two.

If given the choice for your club most if not all people would pefer Messi over Ronaldo. The difference is that even if Messi doesn't score he runs the game can unlock a whole team on his own. Ronaldo cannot.

Messi is just great at running with the ball. Love watching him. The guy got elbowed and he scored with a tissue stick to his mouth to stop the bleeding.

Ronaldo is great too. He's become more of a goal poacher now though.

Ronaldo is a goal machine but I have never seen anyone do what Messi do.

Messi and Ronaldo are the greatest footballers to have graced the game. Really no contest. One doesn't have to be born in 1940's to understand this
