Films you'd like a sequel to.......

But were never made?

As I really enjoyed Master and Commander, I’d have loved there to have been a sequel to that. I’ve heard conflicting rumours around, it being Russell Crowe who refused to do a second, but the I also heard the gross profit on the first one put the makers off.

I’d like the Narnia stories to be followed through to the last book. I suspect that that franchise has been ended at part 3.

And although not a film, I thought Goodnight Sweetheart was the only one of those ‘specials’ last year to celebrate 60 years of BBC Comedy, that merited a new series.

What did the BBC do? They re-commissioned a new series of Porridge. Sorry but without Ronnie Barker I can’t even give that a chance.

I can remember there was talk of a sequel to the Mark Wahlberg movie, was going to be The Brazilian Job. Never happened though.

I like T2 but find The Terminatior to be a better movie, it's man v machine as opposed to machine v machine, plus John connor is a right litte douchebag

Prefer Alien to Alien 2 however think Alien 2 is also brilliant, interesting to watch what 2 different directors do with a film, also John Hurt is one of the greatest actors ever.

On Star Wars a new Hope v Emipre, Empire for me is far far better, George Lucas directed a new hope and while he is a very good producer he's not a good director and that comes across when you see the difference between the 2 movies.

Irvin Kerchner.

Made one of the best ever sequels in Empire and one of the worst ever in Robocop 2

I enjoyed Robocop 2 - I assume it had been made to parody the original; watch it with that thought in mind, you'll enjoy it more.

Agreed. T2's greatest success was in the groundbreaking computer graphics it used for its f/x, which made it a breathtaking film to watch at the time. In terms of technologicaal advancement, I think you might say it was to live action cinema what Toy Story later became to animation.

Also, despite the novelty, it manages to use just about the right amount of special effects. That is praiseworthy in itself, imo, as there is your amount of films that have been ruined by over 'fx-ing'.

However, as far as the actual story and its execution go, The Terminator for my liking is the better film by a fair distance.

good post mate completley agree, I remember seeing it as a kid and being blown away by it.

And totally agree on the level of FX it uses, like the best scene in it for me is when John is in the arcade, Arnie has the shotgun in the roses box and the whole chase from there, very little fx in that whole sequence.
